Just hope if we make the signings of Pugh and Keogh that they aren't made out to be new January signings, because the 2 players were the minimum signings we should have made over summer. I also hope the loan market isn't used as an excuse for any lack of signings.
Agree with all of that apart from Howson being a key player
The lack of ambition comes from the manager, Bates has said promotion is a must.
Money was there in the summer but Grayson couldn't get anyone to come.
Money was there in the summer but Grayson couldn't get anyone to come.
-------------------------------------------------
How much money?
Was it enough for the players Grayson wanted?
Did the players we approached in the Summer get offered more money elsewhere?
Who says he lacks ambition - other than you?
Deals were in place so the money must have been there.
Isn't it up to Grayson to push for more money for the right players?
Surely you can see that Grayson is only interested in keeping himself in a job. It suits him to bring in cheap players because if he spent a lot of money he would open himself up to criticism.
You only have to look at how people like yourself always use the lack of money spent as an excuse for him to see how it's in his interests not to spend.
The biggest problem at the club is lack of ambition from the fans.
So GO .....
The manager has no ambition
The chairman has no ambition
The fans have no ambition
Hell - can the last person out, please lock the gates !!
GO! What have I told you about smoking the crack pipe for breakfast?? eh?
So I guess Grayson is the one who controls the wage budget too right? Deliberately offering league 1 contracts to all his best players every season only for them to be immediately turned down, so he can make his own job 10 times harder, yeah that makes perfect sense
Yes,
That seems to be the way that it is, at least the chairman has said we need to get promotion this season, even if he hasn't gone out and got the manager to do it.
A lot of fans are actually playing down promotion in order to support a manager who's not good enough to get us promoted.
You wouldn't need to ridicule me if I wasn't right.
GO - you've been asked many times to name the manager you want and who you think is good enough to get us promoted ........over to you......
And I've answered many times.
Last season my suggestion of Malky Mackay was shot down on here, now he's doing a great job at Cardiff.
This season I've suggested Dougie Freedman many times.
So GO, if Grayson was to speak out against the chairman and got himself sacked as is the case for any manger who speaks out against Bates, which knight in shining armour would you have replace him??
Who do you think could improve upon 5th in the league while working with this Bates budget??.... Tough one isn't it.
That's what I mean about lack of ambition.
According to fans like you Grayson is the only manager who could possibly work with Bates and no one could do any better.
Sorry am I missing something here? What has Freedman actually achieved so far other than steering Palace clear of relegation?
Also, I agree Malky's doing a good job at Cardiff, but exactly the same job Grayson's doing here. He's making the most out of a restricted budget, as he did at Watford, but if you think that's going to get Cardiff into the top 2 you're dreaming.
Southampton and West Ham have too much quality, depth and £££££ and this well eventually tell over the course of the season.
GO - yes Malky is doing a good job - like us cardiff are in the playoffs so hardly an improvement on what we have.
Also Dougie is doing a good job at Palace but just take a look at the league table and see if you can spot their position relative to ours!!
I make realistic suggestions and you run them down.
If I suggested someone like Mark Hughes you'd say I was living in a dream world.
Do you really have such simplistic views of football?
Do you really have such simplistic views of football?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
No - but you seem to
You've just thrown that back, it was pathetic.
I'm not the one who's just said that Freedman wouldn't be an improvement on Grayson because Palace are below us in the table.
Put it this way, if you asked any other managerless championship club who they'd rather have Larry or Freedman, it would be Grayson everytime, simply because he has more experience and has achieved 2 promotion's while Freedman as of yet has achieved nothing.
I don't think Grayson is a tactical genius by any means and if we actually had a chairman willing to inject millions into the team then I'd want a different manager for that scenario, but in our current situation where we have very limited funds, I think Grayson has proven season after season he is the right man for the job.
GO, I'm not sure why, but the chairman seems to be immune to criticism from you... He is obviously the root of the problem, are you unaware of this?
If anyone would rather have Grayson than Freedman then more fool them.
How is the chairman immune to criticism from me when I think he appointed the worst manager of all time and still hasn't sacked him?
Did you not see my 'Ken Bates Has No Balls' thread?
GO - I think we'll just all leave you to believe in what you wish to believe after all you don't seem to be able to accept the facts about SG!!
