Head always put on a good show. Seen them a few times. Saw them in LA. Best gig I've ever been to.
Danny tenaglia and jeff mills make beautiful music.
I love my music and would list it up there with football as my main interest.
I play a bit of guitar, self taught. Played violin for 10 years but through parent pressure
I almost exclusively listen to / play electric blues. So stuff like BB King, Clapton, Buchanan, Bloomfield, Butterfield...etcetc.
But i am prone to a bit of Rap, none of this new nonsense though. Nas's first couple of albums, Mobb Deep of old, Gangstarr and the like...
I also dabbled in Djing during my teenage years. Oldschool UKG before it all fell apart with the arrival of Grime
My first love is punk, mostly the Ramones influenced punk, my favourite band is Screeching Weasel. Its technically classed as pop-punk which also includes bands like Green Day and Blink 182, but those are a little too radio friendly for my liking, but that sort of sound. I don't mind either of those bands earlier stuff but the newer stuff is a little to clean and polished.
Also like some of the older (non-ramones-esque) punk like Dead Kennedys, The Clash.
Then, I also love my 60's stuff along the lines of Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane, Beatles etc, and some of the more typically acid-head and stoner rock of the era.
Also love me a bit of hardhouse, especially when *ahem* in that state of mind.
Can't stand the vast majority of music that is heard about the place, todays rock (indie rock) is just too slow for my liking, and most of the (for want of a better term) black-influenced music (rap, r and b, hip hop) just makes me cringe, I long for the days when black influenced music was blues, jazz and the original rock and roll.

I'm so with you on this brother! I'd go further back than that for me, absolutely massive Wu Tang-Clan fan, saw them at hmv forum this year, method man is the one!
Love a tribe called quest, mobb deep, busta rhymes, who is absolutely incredible. Cronic if your into old hip-hop check out ' Scenario - A tribe called quest feat busta rhymes', an incredible beat to it. Like you say underground, it sounds like its been made on a tape deck in someone's basement in the bronx lol. Im guessing by your name as well Cronic, we may have other similar 'hobbies'?

yeah back in the day mobb deep old school busta, old school nas, immortal technique, obviously wu tang (ghostface killah and raekwon in particular) .. check out ironman by ghostface if you havent already.. its one of my favourite rap albums.
there is loads of stuff out there. what is your opinion on the uk rap/grime movement in comparison to what goes on in the states?
How old are you, Chronic ??
Still in nappies when 2ND generation hip-hop kicked off.
1-2 years before you popped, the RDBD was listening to Dr Dre in the World Class Wrecking Cru dayz.
Stravinsky, Debussy, Racmaninov, Wagner, Grieg, Beethoven, Bach, Ravel and the rest of the gang... No other music can compare to this.
Can I bring your attention to the Spice Girls U9406
Thanks Nika! they did look nice back then, didn't they
No other music can compare to this.
Steps?
Steps + THudd = JJ Whispers.
Now I know what the H in THudd stands for.
The infamous album by mobb deep is probably my second favourite album after enter the 36 chambers by wu tang. I've heard that ironman album, pretty decent, I do really like ghostface, his ' R'n'B ' tunes are usually pretty crappy though I think.
Old school nas! Yes my man, Nas is one of about 3 or 4 mc's that could go bar for bar I reckon. Would probably say method man and without being cliché, eminem.
Out of UK hip hop and grime I much prefer UK hip hop still, although it used to be the other way around when I was younger. Tbh I don't rate people like Giggs (not Ryan) as although some beats on his track are decent for me it's all about lyrical content in grime and I think it's just not there with him. I like foreign beggars old stuff and some of the dubstep tracks they've done but mainly their old albums like stray point agenda. With grime I would always rather to listen to a freestyle than an artists album as usually it will have loads of crappy filler but in freestyles, unless its recycled bars the artist is actually forced to be creative and intelligent with the lyrical content. In grime it's all about how people have grown up in slums and worked as a drug dealer without a dad blah blah where as for me, you listen to nas, wu tang, mobb deep it's all real talk, in particular the old stuff.
