Overrated English player.

I think most people would agree. This price of 20m is just ridiculous.

I'd place him alongside someone like Ashely Young... He would be a fine addition to the squad, but will never set the world on fire.

If we got him for around £15-£20m i'd be reasonably happy with that. It's good to have an English/British spine to the club.

Rio, Rooney, Young, Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Welbeck, Carrick, Evans are enough imo. No need for extra British players especially if they are overrated like Rodwell.

He's hardly overrated on here, is he? The vast majority seem to dislike him, as a player.

Last time I saw him play (for England) he actually looked half decent, in a more attacking role.

Like I said though, i'd be "reasonably happy" with him in a squad role. But i'd rather see how the youngsters progress.

He is overrated by The media these days. As I have said in the article that he isn't bad. He is a decent player but nothing special and certainly not worth 20m.
For that amount of money there are far better talents out there.

I've never once said that I am against a marquee big money signing. If the right player is available, then I couldn't care less about the price tag, it's not coming out of my personal bank account, and the money I do put into the club, i'd rather go towards players than anything else.

What I don't do is feel we HAVE to buy a big marquee player to prove we are still big shots.

But hey Rodwell ain't a Sneijder/ Ozil or exotic named creative player, he is young and isn't a marquee signing and won't cost 40m so lets sign him.

Jones is a great example of how people change there tune after a few good games. That's why I bought it up.
