Are you the saviour of 606 or are you going to discuss the match? It's all good and well quoting people on here and how it bothers you.... But you're simply adding fuel to the fire?
I've backed my thoughts up with why I believe it..
Also just to throw something else into the mix. There is a difference between 'wanting' Coyle in charge and accepting that he is going nowhere despite what we may want and say. Personally I'm somewhere in between. I'd love for Coyle to turn it around but also feel that it might not happen and a change of manager maybe what we need. However I also accept that he's not likely to get the boot or walk and so he continues to have my support. I'll criticise if I think he has made a mistake but you will never catch my actively calling for his head. I did that to Megson for a lot longer than most but he was destroying this club in a more comprehensive way than some claim Coyle is. Fact is I agree with those who say you don't become a bad manager over night. Coyle has made mistakes but the players need to shoulder some of the blame as well and a few people on here would do well to remember that.
I can discuss the match if you like, but unless at the end of it my comments, I conclude that Coyle should be sacked, I'll get jumped on by three or four posters. If I'm really unlucky, they might tell me
* I'm a WUM
* I'm not a proper fan because I wasn't at the match
* I'm not a proper fan because I don't want Coyle to be sacked
* I'm trundling out the same excuses
* I'm mad
* etc etc
OK here goes, I don't think it was a terrible decision to substitute Klasnic. I think Knight and Cahill switched off for the Wolves goal. I think the game should have been put to bed by half time. In the second half we were poor and Wolves were much more well organised - similar to the way they set their stall out at the Reebok last season.
It was another poor day at the office for BWFC. I don't think the manager is the problem, and I don't think sacking the manager is the solution.
LH
You're in danger of suggesting people who want Coyle out are some kind of "baddies" on this board..
I've been on discussions and been "outnumbered" by people like CEF, Moses etc... I don't feel like I'm jumped on..
For someone who can give the verbal judo on the Internet, I'm surprised by this sudden 'poor victim culture' you've suggested.
This article was created quite clearly for a moan... It's suggestive in the title and next line... It's not compulsory for people like Moses to "defend" on every thread... And if they do, people will counter.
I'm not giving it the old victim routine. I'm pointing out the ongoing decline in decency and respect on this forum. I don't know why you're quoting the phrase 'poor victim culture' in single inverted commas, because I haven't used any of those words, that phrase, or anything broadly similar.
You and others have developed an arrogant attitude on this thread to anyone who dares to suggest that the manager not be sacked. I've already pointed this out, these are not the words of someone who is shrinking away from a heated discussion.
You're right in saying it's not compulsory for Moses to defend Coyle. I'd rather read posts like that though than yours on this thread, and I am sure people would say the same about my posts too. Do you not even accept that you're being a bit of a tool replying to someone telling them you are bored of them?
The article is here for a moan - fair point... I just think posting to say someone is inherently boring is asking for a thread about posting rather than one about football.
"I'm not giving it the old victim routine. I'm pointing out the ongoing decline in decency and respect on this forum."
Bloody Hell LH....
It's all a little rich this... I've seen you at work with people you disagree with..
I don't accept I'm a tool.. I am bored with Moses blind loyalty to Owen Coyle. You think I'm a tool, but that's water off a ducks..
I just hope from this day forward LH, that your future comments to people don't lead them to quote you from the above post..
There'll be no need to quote my comments in this thread - I created a whole shiny article on the subject about three days ago.
To clarify beef isn't people having a pop at each other because they disagree, its specifically people having a pop at each other because they disagree about that person's view the manager shouldn't be sacked. It's overshadowing every discussion on this forum.
Which is why my replies to your and BWFC Forever's comments ired me.
Happy new year you old fart
Okay guys. Enough is enough. We all want to see the Wanderers doing well. Its New Years eve. Get yourselves out and have a good night! (typed from my phone sat in the pub waiting for people to get down here). Happy new years everybody. COYWM!
LH
You called someone a "supercilious bore" the other day....
Is it ok for you?
Actually, it was bricks you called.... Crack on
Happy new year you moaning young s0d !
I'd go out too if I had a friend.
Happy new year to all Whites fans
See now you're making me feel bad RR. I'll have a drink for you mate. Happy new year and all that.
Trouble is WF - I live alone, so I have to drive to go to a pub. And the temptations are too great!
I've had good new years in the past, so it's no big deal
And my own fault for keep getting divorced!
I'm in and happy!!
Alan Carr is mad!!
Evening all. Happy New Year. Rules mate, I'm stuck in tonight as well. I'm a single dad and my two boys were meant to be going to their mums this year but shock surprise horror she felt a bit rough and couldn't have them (6.00pm) but rang us from the pub (9.15pm) to say she feels a bit better so bravely tottered to the pub with her boyfriend because and I quote 'It would be a shame to let my mates down' (won't say what I think my boys are both hacked enough already) so you won't be alone in being stuck in tonight mate.
As to the rest, all the best boys and girls and sink one for me.
Hi Peter - welcome to the sad lonely old feckers club
I'd have replied sooner but a lonely female friend rang me. Unfortunately it wasn't to invite me out for some festive frolics so I've cracked open a Boddies
That wasn't me that posted an empty post! I came back from the kitchen and there is was - damn laptop is haunted!
As it's a footy forum and the angry young men have gone out - did either of you go to the match? I watched on a PPV website, and I thought a draw was a fair result. Ok - we NEEDED 3 points but we could have ended with a fat zero - and how pizzed off would we have been then!
As a Wolves fan I thought a draw was fai as well. You definitely bossed the first half, and we seemed to have most of the second.
I just can't imagine why some of your fans want rid of Coyle. We have the same with a minority that want McCarthy out. I will ask your minority the same as I ask ours, .. "Who would you get to come in that would definitely do better?" I have heard Paul Ince, Lee Clark, Gus Poyet, Mark Hughes, Sean O' Driscoll and others. Some would NEVER come to Wolves under our financial constraints, and I wouldn't want the others right now. Sometimes, as with other things in life, you are better not getting some things you want.
RR ro be fair being single and out is not much better! But there you go! Happy new year people!
I have said the same thing Brereton - most won't go to a club that is skint, and those that will are probably desperate and out of a job for a reason. Be careful what you wish for!
I fully understand fans frustrations though - OC DOES appear to be tactically naive. When Plan A is working everyone is happy, but when it ISN'T working then Plan B seems no plan at all.
Fans watching the game today seemed to think that McCarty's tactics were just better than OC's in the second half - and maybe they were, but the players have to stand up and be counted too.
I have no axe to grind, and I don't watch Bolton week in and week out. If I had been Coyle today though I would have brought Klasnic off. He was just taking up space that someone who cared could have taken up instead. I thought Tuncay did better when he came on.
Two of your players I really rate are Eagles and Holden. Eagles would alwways be in my starting 11, and I was relieved and surprised that he was not. Stuart Holden's injuries are a huge blow for you, as he is the kind of player you can build a team around.
Anyways, Happy New Year. I hope it sees us both still in the Premier League at the end of May.
A few points to sum up how things are in my mind.
Coyle has not become a bad manager over night. People are trying to be too simplistic saying that. He is not a bad manager but he is not good enough for the PL. Loads of managers have come in had blistering starts as they were new or under estimated andthen been found out. Look at Phil brown. Coyle may one day improve enough to manage at this level but it is clear he is not.
To those of you that say he is only a bit to blame I ask you this question. 12 months ago at work did you praise coyle saying he was the bees knees as we were 8th in the league? If you did and did not use the same argument being peddled about players faults then he is responsible for the reverse. If 12 months performances on the pitch had him linked with top jobs then also the reverse should happen that performances on the pitch get him sacked.
In terms of coaches and them not being good enough. Coyle made gartside pay a lot of money for them from burnley. They are his team and they follow his orders and learn from him. If they are tin pot championship standard that's what he has brought in with him. The coaches are only as good as the manager that brings them in.
If or when we do go down championship is coyles level but as aspirant fans we will want more.
Think back 12 months. Westham had avram grant a man with much more PL credit than coyle. West brom had di Matteo with a similar record to coyle. One of them backed the manager even when other potentials were talked about and one did not. The rest as they say is history. Before you peddle the who else argument I ask were is your fighting spirit. The same people saying who else are the ones saying the players arent giving their all. Why sit and accept the rubbish you are served week in week out for 12 months. You deserve a chance at better. If we do go down we want someone in that will make the players freshen up and fight. If we don't we will simple wither to the fizzy pop with coyle.
Some of you have also knocked managers on here like Steve mclaren and say you would rather have coyle. Be honest about records. Mclarens record is far superior to coyles. He can say he has had 1 good Hal season with Bolton. Mclaren won things at boro.
I'm interested to know what peoples views are on the Wolves goal?
A silly nudge by Ricketts to give the free kick, and frankly poor marking from Ricketts to allow Fletcher to score.. I know if Paul Robinson had done that, we'd have had a dedicated Adticle and various abuses...
I'm not going to lay all the blame at Ricketts, but it's just interesting to see how different players are treated when mistakes are made..
Apart from that, his goal was nice and his return clearly give us some confidence at the back.. I thought Cahill was brilliant and will be sadly missed..
Happy New Year Team 606..
I've only seen it once.. But I couldn't believe he give a freekick, both players were going to the ball shoulder to shoulder. Play on.
And the freekick was a very clever one, every time Wolves got a free kick they took it so quick I think some players didn't realise they had.
It was hit v.hard and low and there was a huge gap that opened up like the sea for Moses..but in this instance, the Bolton defence was the sea an Hunt was Moses.
The defence hadn't got into position and were caught out by the speed of their deadball situations, looking to catch the opposition and they did.
