Let's hope for FULL view...

I doubt you'll get ANY view from that distance.

You doubt - not sure.

You haven't been or i haven't been to the OS, why these presumptions?

The point is, for a Championship club which has won nothing for decades to be getting a £500m, 60k state-of-the-art stadium for virtually nothing isn't bad.
Contrast with some Premiership clubs which are flying high but have to make do with much more humble accommodation.

If the downside to this goldmine is a running track, I can happily live with that.

flying high - you mean Pretenders?

myhammers,

You do know West Ham no longer have the rights to move into the OS, dont you?

posted on 3/1/12

Well, flying high by their usual standards.

Chicken: You are aware that the upper seating is going to be removed when the OS's capacity is reduced from 80k to 60k?

You do realise that removing seating does not move the pitch closer to the fans?

Like I said, it's a small price to pay (assuming we get it, of course!).

I think dodgy Dan wanted to keep West Ham out of the OS as much as get it for his club. Whether you want to see it or not, one of your neighbours and main rivals having a new 60k stadium in London with excellent transport links is bound to have a negative impact on Tottenham.

When the Os move into the OS, will Spurs play our home Nextgen games there also ??

======================

I assume, you assumed, you'd stay in the Premiership. Your assumption of assuming was incorrect, i assume.

West Ham moving into a 60k stadium so relatively close to WHL is a bit like a Tesco Superstore opening up next-door to a Lidl.
It will hit Tottenham hard.

Is not enough European embarrassment for you in front of 36,000 (actually 24k attended), do you need more?

Think LIDL paint their stores claret and blue nowadays, to ensure optimum target demographic attraction rates.

============================

1st obvious flaw = West Ham dont have a 60,000 seater stadium.

2nd obvious flaw = Spurs will have a 60,000 seater stadium of their own

OS is there to watch as opposed to your new stadium.. Give us a big shout once you laid down your first brick....

There is every chance Tottenham will become the Lidl of supermarkets; the Leyton Orient of north London football.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

posted on 3/1/12

If Spurs became the LIDL, they would still be superior to the Spanners pound shop.

How many Poundshops cost £500m?

posted on 3/1/12

500m (rhetorical question) ??

posted on 3/1/12

No. A direct question.

posted on 3/1/12

Are you talking about the stock, or the premises ??
Nearly all poundshops that I've seen I doubt could afford to buy their own premises.

posted on 3/1/12

Once again, you've gone off on a tangent.

The analogy of West Ham being a Poundshop whilst occupying a £500m, 60k stadium is a bit far-fetched.
