You want to play 1 defensive midfielder in front of the defence followed by 3 attacking. That leaves the defence with no protection, we have a shoddy defence and you want to do that
This is what Grayson does to players.
People are now doubting Lonergan, and are thinking Pugh and White are so bad that they want to bring Ben Parker in from nowhere.
how many makeleles did chelsea have? 2? what a waste of space. if brown cant do the job and doesnt have the stamina then drop him.
parker have got less attacking intent than white. so we will be more defensively assured.
or id take out mccormack and thrown in pugh in midfield.
That's not how it works
It just means our left winger will have NO SUPPORT AT ALL.
When a LB attacks usually the right winger follows him as well as the RB. So it doesn't leave us exposed by having an attacking LB because everyone on each wing is usually in a similar place.
I wouldn't have Paddy or Parker anywhere near the first team
my instructions to connolly and parker would be not to venture too much and back up sam and townsend.

M.O.P
You clearly have never seen a game.
Start of this season when we played Lees at RB he didn't venture forward due to him been a CB, it wasn't part of his game. Snoddy suffered and didn't play to well. Snoddy hit major form once Connolly came back into the side, as been a natural RB he ventured forward and gave Snoddy support.
Grayson dropped Connolly for Lees at right-back against Derby, so you're ridiculing a fan on a forum for having the same view as a professional football manager you support.
In fact the manager is worse because at least M.O.P would play the natural right-back.
anti whose playing lees at right back? im playing him at cb.
that team is pretty weak m.o.p
The forward line consists of a crocked becchio, useless sam, jaded clayton and poo
Brown is far too ommbile to act as cover against a lively team like burnley.
not really mike. clayton and pugh are always willing runners. becchio will no doubt be substituted second half for mccormack because of fitness.
also the roles are inter-changeable. maybe pugh should be the devensive midfielder with brown in midfield?
M.O.P
You aren't understanding me.
The reason why Snoddy plays well is because he has some good support from his RB. When Lees played at RB he didn't attack and that was Snoddy's bad (compared to his usual form) patch.
If our full backs don't attack our wingers will suffer. Part of a full backs game is to provide support for the wingers. This will mean you want Snoddy trying to take on 2 or 3 players on the wing with no options
You're showing a lack of knowledge of football here.
What about Grayson showing a lack of football knowledge?
Grayson has always preferred full backs who defend, and has regularly played centre halves there.
Earlier in the season we were playing with Lees at right-back and O'Dea at left-back.
Bromby had a long spell at right-back and Carl Dickinson was a left-back who never went past the half way line.
Anti you have not a clue about the game. Connolly and parker are a perfectly balanced in defensive/agressive ability as full backs.
Your making an argument out of nothing just for the sake of disagreeing.
Grow up. That team that i posted would do damage to burnley without a doubt.
and grayson out is right our squad is imbalanced in certain positions. I mean we have no other option besides connolly for rght back as is the same for right midfield when snodgrass is injured.
Lees is our best centre-half and he's been playing right-back when Connolly has been fit.
m.o.p
Snoddy was a mere shadow of himself without Connolly.
If our full backs don't attack, our wingers fill suffer. I am more than confident of that and I am more than confident than no manager above the junior leagues would implement a system like that.
Haha, are you on a wind-up?
That's exactly what Grayson does!
M.O.P, I think he has me blocked, please tell him that's what Grayson does.
Point out that one of his first signings was a left-back who never went past the half way line.
Point out that we had centre-halves as full backs for a spell this season.
I signed out just to see your filtered comment. I will only do this once.
As a Season Ticket at Elland Road, and a common presence at the away games, it has become clear to me that you do not attend Leeds United games.
On the right wing when attacking Connolly moves forward into the right wing role to give Snoddy the back pass option if he hits a dead end.
On the left wing Pugh and White alternate. If one attacks the other drops, the one who isn't attacking stays on the left side of midfield providing a back pass option in the case that the attacking player hits a dead end.
If you believe that our full backs are commanded, and do stay back and not attack. Then that is proof to me that you do not attend games, White is the most attacking full back I have seen at Elland Road for quite a few years. Connolly is less attacking but he does fullfill he role as a RB, which is not totally defensive. A full backs role is to defend to flank but also to provide support to the winger when his team is attacking
And also yes we have had CB's at full backs as this season. But that is proof that M.O.P's system of having full backs not attack will not work. Snoddy's least successful period of this season was when Lees was playing RB. Whilst he did attack, remember he got an assist with a nice cross onto McCormack's head, he wasn't as attacking as a full back should be. This is proof that the system been suggested on this post will not work.
Before you start saying that it's Grayson's fault that he played a CB at RB, may I point out that we only actually have one RB. We have Connolly and two CB's who can play RB in Lees and Bromby.
