I think Sven bought about 8 players when he went to City. He said he'd just seen videos of them - remember what happened to all of them
Would love to see Hoilett come and is realistic also, could get him for around 6 million ish with his contract running out - think he could really add something to our squad with his pace and dribbling. Podolski would be great but can't see him coming, hasn't he said he isn't leaving in Jan?
I agree with the ones that have said we need REAL quality now, we have a very good squad; time to add world class talent if we can:
Gotze
Sneidjer
Hazard
Eriksen
Cavani
These types of players make the big difference, i know its unlikely we will get them; but if we cant then we should wait until we can.

NOW!!! That's a list!!!
Eriksen probably the only one half realistic though...

Forget about those big names we won't get any of them unless we can prove we will be in the CL next season. Something we have failed to do so far.
I would go for Hoilet to add some pace and trickery and Jordan Rhodes for a goal getter.
I am pretty sure that if this rumour about Jackson Martinez is true, then we would have done more as a club than just watch video's
Hoilett I really like and would be happy to see him sign. Just because a player is in a struggling team does not make him a bad player, and he has attributes we are lacking - pace, direct running, and an eye for a spectacular goal.
It's not about big names IMO. City would have been running away if it was. I think it's to do with balance and style of play IMO.
You just need strong spine, Reina, Agger, Gerrard and Suarez. We now need to build a good team around them..
Not with players like Bent and Carroll (current form).
Hoillet has talent and would be great to have as an option on the right. De Jong can't be happy sitting on the bench and is a type of player we don't have currently (although Spearing has done well allright under Kenny) and Martinez would give us another option upfront which we need.
De Jong is unlikely, but the other two I could see happening, this month or in the summer
You do realise we mean Luuk De Jong and not Nigel De Jong?
They even made a song for the Martinez guy

In all honesty I forgot about our interest in him. I've always been keen on the idea of strengthening at DM for competition/cover for Lucas and got a bit carried away.
De Jong isn't currently a first choice pick though , Nigel that is It's highly unlikely he would join, but City are rumoured to be interested in De Rossi.
Would be nice but we're not a fan of high wages and not sure if he'll be one of the 'three player's Mancini plans to sell with Tevez and Bridge clearly being two.
Rumors are we want Redmond now.
Seems realistic as he's young annd British...

Good shout RAP; I was thinking Xherdan Shaqiri too.
Eljero Elia (Unhappy at Juve)
Dries Mertens (Belgian left winger from PSV - flying machine with 12 or 13 goals in 16 games so far)
Jordan Rhodes (Why not take a chance)
Good shout about Elia too LC.
Has anybody else seen this rumour about Suarez going to Madrid? Can't see him leaving Liverpool for a long time now. If he didn't love the club before, the support he's given will reaffirm that .
'Lazy Journalism' they call it Fred
Good shout by Baskets for Mertens! He's absolutely brilliant, quick, direct and a good eye for goal. I'd also prefer luuk De Jong or even a punt on Rhodes before Podolski, he failed to hit the heights at Byern and I think he'd be to much of a big time Charlie!
Would also love Javi Martinez and cant beleive that nobodys snapped him up yet!
King Luis Suarez - Bellers 'anyone fancy a good nightout boys, I've got some new Callaways!' (U1695) -
I'm a big fan of Mertens. With de Jong I think the jury is still out tbh.
Javi Martinez
JERMAIN DEFOE for me. it probably wouldn't be possible but i would certainly make a bid for him. if not the loan for mauro zarate sounds like a good deal for us.
also the other signing i would make would be DAVID HOILETT. i don't actually think that he is any better than downing but if we could get him for say £7-8million then i would do that.
in the summer i would sign darren bent and shaquiri for hopefully a little cheaper than the figures currently being thrown about.
