If I was a youth player I would be highly insulted and possibly leave as you know that you'll never get a game?

Don't be 'insulted'. Realise that maybe your'e not good enough atm and raise your game

he came back to ease the injury crisis atm in the knowledge that we have players coming back soon.
the youngsters clearly arent ready for the big time yet otherwise they'd be playing .

Its only whilst Fletcher, Cleverley & Vidic are out (hence Phil Jones covers there too).

Its actually quite a good move i think.

Nothing to mock Man Utd for there.

A lot of good replies to this question on this.

He came on for half an hour and out of 71 passes he had a 91% completion rate better than any Man C player. (opta stats)

If it's a short term plan, looks like it's working out nicely.

I wouldn't put very much into that stat.

One of hs nine percent led to Cities second.

I know he gave the ball away for City's 2nd goal but his short accurate passing, along with switching play towards the end of the game, is probably why Man Utd held on.

Scholes record versus City this season = 100%.

And i'm not even a United fan.

Sorry for practically repeating your article Vidicshin!

My point is, When Liverpool were full of injury problems we just stuck in youth.

I remember we gave Robinson most of the match against Arsenal and I think Robinson had his debut there. Shelvey/Spearing cover the CM. We stick in our youth whereas United seem not to

Not really, his arrival slowed down the tempo of our game which pretty much suited City.

Can't see scholes playing much but gives an extra option especially if united are trying to see a game out he can come in play it simple keep the ball moving whilst retaining posession, if he had to play every game that would be different but I'm sure carsick, Anderson and cleverly at least would be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I think what the OP was saying about the nippers is relevant. Perhaps they are not quite ready for the step up hence Scholes inclusion.

Regrettably it's the same situation at Liverpool, lots of talent but no end product yet.

Perhaps Scholes missplaced pass can be put down to rustyness?

What about Morrison and Pogba, aren't they CMs?

Ha carrick auto corrects to carsick, is there something to this??????

=====================

If Scholes hadn't retained possession the way he did, City would have won 4-3, or even by more.

No problem.

SAF has used our young players a lot due to injuries this season. Fryers has made some apperances, and Jones has hardly been out of the team.

Welbeck has userped Hernandez place, and Cleverley was around at the start of the season.

There has been no need to throw Pogba or Morrison in yet, but I feel SAF should have used them more in the CC.

Or if United had have kept the tempo of the game higher, we would have tired City out and won by a few more goals.

As it was City were happy for us to pass the ball six feet sideways realy slowly, so that they could get players behind the ball.

And lose 3-2.

So Man Utd's tactic worked then?

Thank you at last someone else that gets it. So many people on here today moaning that his legs have gone, but you don't need to run to pass it round the opposition.

.................

It very nearly didn't.

Thunderkiss, I get what you are saying.

But sadly you still need to be able to run, in todays game.

When Scholes gave the ball away for Cities second, he did not have the legs to get it back.

The game speaks for itself. We were cruising up until scholes came on then the tempo was so slow it was easy for city

SAF is not the perfect tactician, why would he take Nani off when he was one of the best players on the game? I'd rather he took Giggs off, but having said that Giggs had a pretty good game too.

We were crusing until the free kick gave them some hope, then the players started looking rattled and misplaced passes. Then Scholes came on and misplaced 1 pass the whole time he was on. Although this led to their second, if he hadn't come on we'd have lost or drawn the game.

Pogba apparently won't sign a contract, Morrison is injured and Tunnicliffe is on loan. That is what it says about the youngsters.
