redrob :
Without Ledley, or a functioning strike pair ready to take the meagre chances that come, any lineup is a joke.
We will be lucky to get a point V's City..even more so with our injurys and our lackluster forward line

If not the formation I suggested I'd go with 4-4-2 with Pav and Defoe up front and VDV dropped.
VDV can't play with both of them so just drop him, simples.
Some team was playing United I think and they told them not to play the loan player which was against the rules/loan agreement and there was controversy so the FA brought in the ruling.
redrob :
Chances will be few and far between.
And Pav/Defoe will eagerly ... pull puzzled faces +/- do a Simon Phoenix.
How long is Sandro out for?
i am just imagining pav away at city.
might as well have harry up top.
Long enough.
Just assume the worst on him and Ledley (ie no return until after Chelsky) .
Harry says Sandro has torn his calf..the website says its a strain
Oh... And this game isn't for another 11 days
Spurs could buy a whole new XI buy then

Parker can't be far off, he only just failed a fitness test before the West Brom game!

You have to pick VdV. Against the big sides you can either play negatively or play your best side and go at them. It's not naive, it's just the fact that without VdV we are missing one of the key components to our attacking game. In the last few games he's been creating the openings and should be picked against city on that basis.
And as for selecting Livermore ahead of him?
Let's not look past an Everton side who can always pull a performance out of the bag, either.

Should King Arry be deleted from this article, RRP ...
Remy = case-load of Remy Martin Arry got in duty-free.
RDBD - Nightmares about that fateful incident

Marseille are still in the CL, i suppose it depends on how much they rate Pav (might be offered to them) + some cash
VDV might be vital but none of our other strikers can play as a lone striker so I feel it would be best to drop him then our strikers basically not being on the pitch.
doo doos :
Would have like to have seen a VDV/Defoe pairing tried out well in advance. But too late now.
