usual game against Oddham, scrappy, bitty and ball in the air all the time.
Don't know why we always end up playing the way the opposition play. Both our wingers were nullified thus we resort to hoofball, which was awfull.
I reckon our CB's gave the ball away 95% of the time with aimless headers and hoofs...you might say Miller was poor today, and I'll be glad when Johnson is back . Pity Gobern had to go off, we missed his forward play. Oddham bossed central midfield so dictated the game really.
Still, winning ugly or winning beautifull, it is still 3 points, and the only time we got a winger down the line (Cads) and put in a decent ball...we scored.
oddham seemed to think attacking Naysmith was the best option, but at the end of it all, they didn't get one single shot on target, mainly due to erratic finishing.
They probably deserved a draw for the effort, but Alan Lee...didn't he enjoy that, nutmegged the keeper !
I too got dripped on all game, and blooming frozen, but not as cold as I would have been if it ended 0-0.
Ward played ok, but neither he nor Roberts could get a decent pass to enable them to attack the last third, and thus the crosses which Rhodes depends on never materialised.
Cads looked energetic and is a great sub to have come on. I just don't see why we struggle to get a foothold in the game against teams like Oddham, we were rushed and harried out of our normal game, and no one seemed to do anything about it. Apart from giving the ball away all the time, the back line held their own and another clean sheet is great.
50 points now, and the league table looking better than 3 weeks ago, pity Wendies couldn't snatch a draw against Charlton though.
Anyway, very pleasing to win a game we would normally have drawn 0-0...things looking better now.
A mate would have swapped seats with me Tez ! Luckily the drip stopped as we kicked off!
Poor game with little to shout about! Oldham insisted on hitting the deck and the ref fell for it! Still, it's the result that counts!
jacko,,
we forgot to play the ball quickly.. it works when you are bing chased and harried..
slowing it down and going sideways and backwards just allows a "hard working" team to be able to get at you..
playing it back to clarke and mccombe just gives them the ball back..
i was happy with the last 10 minutes and more than happy that the ball was kept largely in their half after we scored..we "defend" much better with the ball in their half..
cads and lee are good impact players but we really have to get the rhodes/novak thing working better at home.. the 2 centre midfielders were too deep when we were attacking and got caught square stood next to each other when defending..its needs sorting out..
dickovs a little, nasty, annoying bast-rd so ill take any win over him..
Yes i agree with you dickoff is a fooking twatt
3 points is 3 points, next Sat is very interesting, Charlton V Sheff U, if Sheff U lose then we go 2nd live on Sky! I want a draw though
I Don't know about you guys, but I really enjoyed that game today..
1st half we play good football and deserved at least to be 2 - 0 up...
2nd half Oldham played the most negative football I've seen since the last time we were at home and the game before that...
Ward & Rhodes were the best 2 players on the pitch..
P Clarke had a very good game, Boom Boom did reasonably well as a defender but his ball distribution was pants..
An what can I say about the substitutions...Genious ~ Master stroke by Lee Clark...
Both Helen Helen Lee & Cads were brilliant, and the goal came from a cross from Cads and a very cute finish from Helen Lee...superb..UTT..
Hope darn is reading these comments, same old town.
At least the ref provided a better than normal atmosphere. Good win lads
UTT
You don't win someone, you beat them. e.g. Bournemout to beat Notts County.

we "winned" today... we "beated" wycombe last week ..
the correct grammar is illelephant...
thall learn you..
It's a fine line between Novak been asked to drop deeper and actually leaving Rhodes all on his own. It didn't work today.
And Anton Robinson! Where is the player i saw dictating the play for Bournemouth. So far at Town he has looked what he was not long ago, a non league player.
Good 3 points today and Cads is like a new signing for us, his contract must be coming up!
It was one of those horrid scrappy games which Town always end up losing 0-1...and in the 2nd half when Oddham came at us, I thought here we go again....but the one decent ball by cads was enough for us to actually win the game. I've seen so many games like this with town, and we've pretty much lost or drawn all of them, and gone home frustrated and disappointed...but this team has that little bit 'extra'. Apart fro Roberts/Ward/Rhodes we have Cads/Lee...and that just might be the difference between play-offs and autos this season.
We have the ability, it seems, to win handsomely and we have the ability to win the ugly games too.
Next up are brentford, who know are traditionally another of the teams who are 'in your face', spoiling, niggling, and ugly...so another test for town and the fans next week.
Great Win today..we Won Oldham...
Great beat today?????....
Helen Helen lee...Helen Helen Leee (with stitches n' all that)...UTT
I thought the fans played a big part today, so a big pat on the back from me. We were quick to get on the backs off fans for. Not making an atmosphere so credit were credit due.
we are desperate for maximum point at the moment. long may it continue. oldham are cheating set of cunnats and the ref was a disgrace. very very happy with todays result!
Agree there Loui.....
Especially 2nd half town fans in Kilner bank had a singing battle with oldham fans....fair contest to be honest...But we won....
Just wish the Oldham players had turned up with the same positivity as their fans (respect)...
Yes i agree with me too myth
Just seen the attendance, they brought just over 1500,looked more than that.
