" I expect you to get beaten at Swansea tomorrow."

But we didn't play there last season. How on earth did you come to that conclusion

Mr Chelsea (U3579)

we might aswell pack our bags and all go home.

I thought you already had. 6 points clear with a better goal difference, despite having spent half a billion less.

I thought Chelsea and Arsenal would have put up a better fight for 4th place. Looks like it is Stokes or Newcastles to lose now.

Face it mate, Spurs can afford to lose 2 or 3 games, and Arsenal will still not have caught up even if they win all their games, which are they are not going to do. I expect you to get beaten at Swansea tomorrow.

Given your logic for making predictions, I take comfort in you writing us off. Keep it up. It's encouraging for us.

Think its silly to think about the next ten games.
Focus on the next ONE .... City.
Win that and we're on course.
None of the ten are easy ... or certain.
Look wot happened today .... same could happen with Wigan....same kind of Pesky team.

Win at City, I say!

Who said anything about you playing there last season. Arsenal are not a good side. Swansea are excellent at home. So it does not take a lot of working out the result.

I expect plenty of tomorrow night.

Well I have been predicting that Spurs are better than Arsenal all season, so not quite sure were you are coming from. Whereas you lot have been predicting the demise of Spurs practically since August.

And you like your ratboy Wilshire are not that good at making correct predictions.

Don, I understand that but you're missing my point.

Do you want a set of players at the club who are happy to have qualified for the CL, or a set of players who are disappointed because they haven't won the league. Which attitude will result in driving your club on to better things and which attitude will result in your club progressing no further?

What is your ambition as a club? To win the league, or just finish top four? At the moment you have a group of players who are amongst the best in the league, and winning the league is not beyond you.

You say it's realism in thinking that you won't win the league. I call that a defeatist attitude. You have a great chance of winning the league this season, so what is wrong in believing that you can?

Or are you worried that in stating that you feel you have a chance will result in faceless people on a faceless forum ridiculing you should it not happen? Who cares what idiots on this site write? I certainly don't. You are where you are this season on merit - 2 points behind the team in 1st position - rest assured if any other team was in this position then yes they might be subjected to many wum posts but the fact of the matter is, a chance in winning the title is at this moment in time a realistic possibility. So I'm sorry but I don't agree with your own claim as to being a realist. Your attitude is more akin to being a pessimist - one that is categorically stating that it won't happen when the reality is that it has just as good a chance of happening.

Ripleys, I think we need more players with the passion and heroics of VDV if we want to win the league. He really is born a winner, just a shame he hasnt been given the body to be world class

The demise of Spur's is inevitable by mean's of your manager's petrified unwillingness to rotate. Your second half performance has been described as jaded today. The same core group of players eventually burn out when overused. So despite your lofty position at this stage, I fully expect your run-in to be less smooth which doesn't mean you'll finish outside the top 4.

But it's worth noting that you can only sustain a top 4 challenge when you've got no European competition to distract you. Will it continue on in this yo-yo fashion? Or will it all collapse when Redknapp answers England's call?

Why would it collapse if Rednapp goes. Does he take to the pitch each game. Does that mean that any manager leaving any club, they suddenly collapse. Football does not work like that.

When Wenger goes, will Arsenal go back to mid-table mediocrity of when Bruce Rioch was in charge?

You lot never fail to amaze me. Spurs are 10 points clear of your club, and liable to go further clear, and you are more worried about Spurs than you are of your own shambles.

Yeah, I'm not worried about Arsenal as well but thx for the concern.

Who knows what will happen when Wenger retires? It'll depend on who we replace him with obviously, but I'm confident that our board will make the correct decision when that day comes. Thankfully we'll have paid off the worst of our debt on our stadium meaning that any manager who does come in will reap the benefits of Wenger's fiscal prudence these last 6/7 years.

How Tottenham fare in the likelihood (fair enough?) that Redknapp takes the English position also depends on who they replace him with. Just curious as to who that may be.

Sandy

To be fair to AuHarsd, (s)he merely asked the question whether it will collapse or not. No definitive statement was made in that respect. So for you to jump on the question that was asked in the manner that you did says more about you than it does AuHarsd.

Sorry if that sounds a little harsh, but it's a bug bear of mine when it comes to this site. People always jump the gun and presume when it need not be necessary. Smacks of a victim mentality - the kind of people who always respond as though they (or rather the club they support) is being attacked.

Liverpool and Arsenal away were both easy wins for Spurs last season, so that`s another 6 points.
======================================

So by that logic Wigan at home and Bolton away are another zero points

posted on 14/1/12

Sandy Logic.

We won there there and there last season so that's 9 points.

Okay we lost there and there and there last season, but we'll win those so that's another 9 in the bag.
