40% of 20m bought for 3m and twopence + an extra annual incurred running loss of 30k, ,, So Dean was getting an 8m valued share for 3m n 2p + 30k loss a year ! sounds more than reasonable to me yet this deal aint been done because Davy called Hoyle a liar over agreeing/never mentioned/drinking talk ? to changing the Giants rental terms to paying only for when they play rather than paying for two games that they dont actually play ! Town dont recieve any income regarding catering and hospitality on matchdays, Yet they could have been doing so this saturday If Hoyle had not cut off his nose to spite his face, "you liar", Foo king hell give me strength, Give your head a shake Dean, And am sorry Ken but the only way the Giants can increase their crowd pulling potential now is to take a backward step and let someone else be the figurehead as you have alienated too many who may have gone and got the bug for summer Rugby, Very sad affair for someone who watches both whenever possible, As i want to see the Giants reach the 10k figure, Take a good following to big semi finals and build on what they have in the last decade, But alas they simply wont acchieve their targets with Davy as top man, Hoyles little principle (he called me a name) tantrum smacks of a spoilt childs outburst, Man up and sign you big baby instead of this "i have more friends than you" sketch where the wedge is being driven into the divide even more. foo king filthy rich egos.

Give your head a shake Bryce

This is not only a HTAFC problem but also a Giants problem as well.

As of now neither the Football nor Rugby club owns any shares in the Stadium.
KMC 40% HSP(Ken Davy) 60%

IF and it's a big IF.. Something happened to Ken Davy then where would that leave both clubs?
I'll tell you where.... stood there without a pot to pee in.

IF it's nothing to do with the rent(as KD likes to point out) then why does KD not sell the shares back for £2 and then we can argue about the rest later.

WHY is he trying to change something that he(KD) stated was "set in stone"

WHY when transferred the shares was it done in secrecy and when was the last time you were able to buy not only a 40% share in an award winning stadium but 53acres of land as well for £2

posted on 19/1/12

If anything happened to Davy i would assume the shares would be passed over to his missus, Who is the one who got Davy into Rugby in the first place ! Your point being ?

and why the fook should town pay rent on crowd attendances????
towns crowds are increasing by the season....averaging 14000 after 10 years in no mans land!!!
so as the club gets up the leagues and attendances rise we have to pay more for that success!!!! ludicrous!!!
and giants pay fook all cos noeone watches them or interested in them anyway!!!
they oughta go to valley parade since they play in bradford city colours anyway....

best bet is to sort it out and then totally divorce ourselves from the mickey mouse that is rugby league..

its dying on its ars- quicker than football..no one south of sheffield is interested in the slightest and the sight of big blokes touching each other inappropriately and then pretending its a mans game has long been "blown" out of the water.. if you cant play football, try rugby...if you cant play rugby become a bouncer.. etc etc..

not enough watch the giants, not enough watched them when they had a wee bit of success..they dont sell themselves enough and they thought that by changing the teams names and giving them "butch" names with loads of cheerleaders might get everyone interested???
most blokes i know watched the cheerleaders then turned over..

simple get shut of the rugby, they look after themselves and htfc pay for what htfc use..

The bryce - are you a complete knumpty ? Ken Davy said he transferred our shares away to protect the club until it was back on a sound footing, well now we are and now he won't give them back, he paid 2 quid and now wants 3 million ! Your quite clearly an egg chaser, the giants only survive cos town are paying your way, wake up man !

davy transfered the shares for his own motives and future profit.. nothing against that , its not a charity..
but if he really wants to keep the giants going, he needs us more than we need him.. thats what will get the situation sorted, eventually..
If we make championship status and dean brings others on board(itll happen) davey could well do better at that time....just hope good sense overcomes a bit of pride on both sides..

38,
Stop knocking Rugby League - it's real mans game played by men of steel, with non of this constant diving and feinging injury and trying to con the ref at every verse end.

Football could learn a lot from Rugby League and you well know it.

Rugby is the biggest pile of dog doo ever, those egg chasers do Nowt but ruin our pitch and take our money.

Hydy,

I can't see owt wrong with our pitch - you obviously don't remember the state of the old Leeds Road pitch in winter, which was grassless except for a small patch in each corner.

Proper players can play on owt, but the modern day Mamby Pamby's complain if a blade of grass is out of place.

"Men of Steel" never blame the pitch and accept full responsibility without any excuses, when a result goes against them.

You should get down to the Galph more and give the Giants some support as well - you know it makes sense.

Its not me ffs! Look at the spelling. And my user number is 3 something.

Agree Mirf

Nothing wrong with any of the football pitches these days.
& just to add,
The Leeds Rd 'crown green-less' pitch never had Fartown sharing the facility either.

The Ego's & arrogance of footballers is turning many away.
It used to be Sweat & Mud from December till April.
now it's under thermals, Gloves & neck warmers,

The Media rules.
Think about that one.

Hydy,

One of you two needs to get together and agree a change of "monicker" and stop trying to confuse the likes of me.

Since you were the first to register yours by a few days, I reckon Hydey should grow a pair and back down.

Davy has always been a shrewd business man and thats why he is holding out now as he knows he holds all the cards here. Town cannot realistically just build a new stadium and we cannot chuck the Giants out.

It will come to a solution, all both sides are doing is posturing and trying to position themselves to get the best deal. Truth is when its struck we will not know the full real details of it.

I think Davy will need to mend fences at that point as at the moment many Town fans wont go near the Giants and they need the extra money that brings.

It all just seems a bit playground stuff, name calling and whining, being petty for the sake of it. Saying that I do imagine Davy being the kid noone likes as he has struck a deal to keep the swings all to himself

Note the similarity between the Hydey/hydey username issue and the Davy/Hoyle issue ... that's 2 big controversies for the price of one.

Davy has legally taken the Town the shares off us (betraying his Fagin-like characteristics). As 38 says, that's business, but I'd guess that this deceit and his attempt to try and get one over on Hoyle (which he may well do in the short term) will back fire on him in the long term. Successful businessmen tend to have big egos, long memories and bear grudges - I would be very careful who I picked my fights with if I were Ken.

Mirf,

You say there is no cheating in Rugby League.

Next time check the penalty count. If it's not for Knock on/forward pass it's for cheating. Examples of these are

High Tackles
Interference
Holding down
Not ten yards

Don't ever say a game of "men" who cant play football, so try Rugby ever cheat.

posted on 20/1/12

High tackles are generally an accident or due to tiredness, If they are deemed to be intentional, You gotta walk.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Interference, ten yards, and holding down are all little rule benders and hardly comparable to the diving and feigning injury that now is endemic in football,,,, I watched an old "Big Match" the other day,, How refreshing to see players attempting to ride over tackles, attempt to stay on their feet to get a shot in rather than look for the penalty and if a player stayed down, He was injured, He did have blood running from a headwound,,,, Singing swaying terraces, Scarves around wrists, Lots of noise and entrance fees at a reasonable percentage to your wages,,,,,, It was january 1980 and nobody in the Liverpool, Spurs, WBA or Ipswich sides had a pair of gloves between em, Mounds of snow at the side of the pitch and orange balls galore,,,, It even showed the fans at the Hawthorns chucking snowballs at the Pool fans,,,,, Lots of things to give todays H&Ss mob a heart attack.

Rule benders = cheating!

Simples.

The simple thing about all this is no matter what sport it is, it's all about getting any advantage. The money in modern sport is too much nowadays compared to back in't day.

Holding down is making sure your team is back.

Feigning injury to stop the other team playing

It's all about the advantage. The reason it's highlighted more in football is because football is back and front page news where as Rugby League is not less popular than Darts. It's a shame, but it now is a regional sport.

inter,

Where do I say there's no cheating?

All the offences you list above are technical offences and not blatant cheating and the players are not trying to con the referee when committing such offences.

Proper cheating is what we see too much of in Football and was evident at Town when Joe Garner was around and spent most of his time diving and trying to con the ref into awarding a free kick.

And we now even get Managers holding up imaginary red cards in an effort to get opposing players sent off.

As I've said above, football could learn an hell of a lot from Rugby League, especially as far as Video Technology, Sin Binning and Meterage Penalising for any back chat, are concerned.

Finally and to reiterate, Rugby League is a man's game played by real men who aren't spoilt by brass and pampered like a bunch of Prima Dona's, especially at the top level, where the likes of ace divers Drogba, Torres, Ronaldo, Klinsman, Ginola and Pires and co wouldn't have survived their first tackle.

If the Rugby players had been good enough at football when they were younger they would be playing it now and would be subject to the same accusations. Its only circumstances (i.e. not good enough) in most cases that mean they are playing Rugby league instead.

That said - of course football can learn from Rugby League - most notably in player's respect for the ref. It is the worst aspect of football by a mile that players are allowed to show as much dissent as they like to the refs and assistants without punishment.

So simple for the FA/Uefa to fix and just highlights the governing bodies complete lack of balls/competence.

So,

If the money involved in Rugby League with all the same pressures of relegation and all the press were evident as in Football.......

Do you still think it would be the same "honest" sport??

I've named some forms of Cheating to you, but you still insist that grown men running in a straight line holding a bag of air is much better.

It's now a smaller sport than Darts, which kind of sums up the future of Rugby League.

Can you imagine the Premier League struggling to get a sponsor for it's League two weeks before the start of the season?? Like a lot of sports it will keep the die hard fans going, but it's losing it's charm. If you think it is'nt, then look at the Magic weekend. Slowly, but slowly moving back into it's heartland after trying to take it around the country.

Thats enlightning Eggnob,, What about the kids who pick up a rugby ball rather than a football when young, Or are you saying they have a sixth sense that tells them not to even bother with the round ball game,, And where does my 7yo nephew come into your assumptions as he finds football boring and loves the physical nature of rugby league ?

posted on 20/1/12

The magic weekend is a load of tosh,, Yes RL is a regional sport as such and the area that has more people playing rugby league than anywhere per population has been neglected while the RFL try to manufacture teams in areas that will never be a financial success,,,
