Interesting marks CSTP.

I also thought the middle one was the weakest. Personally though i'd have given my 9 to the first film

The first one was very good don't get me wrong. I just thought the last was amazing. The bit at Waterloo station was probably my favourite.

Rewatched cannibal holocaust last night. Got it on DVD. Possibly the most controversial film of all time. It's worth a watch if you can stomach it. Released in 1980 some people thought it was a snuff film and wanted the director arrested
Extremely disturbing and violent with real animal killing in. Definitely not for everyone but the first horror to use shaky "real camera footage" as its backdrop way before the likes of Blair witch and clover field

SOG, I wanted to watch it the other day, but something stopped me.

Is it any good? What kind of disturbing scenes would I have to put up with?

Well apart from the very real animal killings, there is cannibalism, women being tortured then killed (very nasty scenes involving a woman and piece of rock) .thw woman impaled on a pole is very nasty.
And of course there is the end sequence which I wont ruin but needless to say the first time I watched it I felt sick
I did actually think it may be real when I first saw it!
Watching the DVD extras the director has said that many people thought it was real!
Still banned in a lot of countries. In fact I'm surprised they allowed it over here despite some of the violent films of recent times.
It's a slow build up but I think that's what gives the film it's realistic edge

**** that.

I didnt even tell you the worst scene

posted on 28/8/12

Well you can go ahead and do that now, because I won't be watching it

posted on 28/8/12

Hmmm not sure if it's potential ban from 606 material or not.
Needless to say it involves a pregnant woman but that's all I will say
The soundtrack is excellent, quite a contrast to the savagery of the film. It's mellow, haunting and disturbing all at the same time
I downloaded the soundtrack onto my iPhone for post work bus listening

Watched "The Watch" today. It was one of those films where it was so bad, it was good. Really stupid at times, but the comedy drags it through. Won't be watching it again though.

Maybe some of it was a bit OTT but it's just a comedy show.

Some parts of it were very funny. Acting wasn't great but it's well written. The main character is very well thought out and performed IMO.

There's been some very good films in the last few years. I would include :

The Departed
Miami Vice
Daybreakers
In Time
Shutter Island
Inception
Bourne 1
Bourne 3
Iron Man
Footloose
Reel Steel
Children of Men

In terms of great films (as well as some of the above), I would say :

Gladiator
Long Good Friday
Dont Look Now
The Comittments
Point Break
State Of Grace
Any Given Sunday
Australia
True Romance
Casino
Goodfellas

Then there's a few other quirky favourites of mine :

Caddy Shack
Westworld
Boys In The Hood
Warriors
National Lampoons Vacation
