What aload of rubbish
Makes out we're 2m over budget. What he seem to be forgetting is we got over two for gradel and kasper
Take away fees for lonergan and Pugh and te wage bill is nearer 11m,
Bates out and can't believe you've fallen for the spin cas
And bate keeps saying the tickets income doesn't cover the players wages.
Again been caught out
By looks less than a third of turnover goes on players wages
Yes ken can where is the money going
Bates out
LIW, I understand what you say, but with all transfers you and I both know you don't get all the money up front. Especially Max's will be spread over 2/3 years of this contract in France.
I also remember him saying ticket something about ticket income. That it just about covered player wages. So depends on when he said what.
As for £10/11m on player wages then you are right seems to be about 33-35%. Can only assume as we employ coaching staff, admin staff etc the total wage bill is going to be higher. Wasn't it you that mentioned out of a £10m+ wage bill in league 1 only £7m+ was on players/coaching staff. On that basis you need to make the total wage bill about £15m. This is closer to 45-50% to turnover.
Then if 40% of turnover is from corporate events, merchanise etc there is a cost associated with this. So how much is actual profit??
It's easy to still there and say Bates out but you don't have enough information to state anything about costs?
Plus is anyone really going to plough millions of own money into us? They'll be thinking if I get it wrong I'll being getting knocks on the door from fans!!
Believe what you want cas
If there no management charge to other bates companies I'll be amaze
And we will pay the transfer fees out for longeran and Pugh over 3 years too
Yep, that's free thought for you
Lets see what the figures for last 12 months show. They will be announced in next few weeks I assume!
Bates talks nothing but propagada. I don't know what to believe anymore, all I know is that what he writes is what he wants us to think. Whether it is the truth or not is irrelevant.
Don't buy his programme. If you want something to read on a matchday, get Squareball which is cheaper, funnier and not full of BS
LIW, I heard him say that previously. But it doesn't tell us how this was made up, ie is that operating profit or after transfers?

LIW BATES OUT, Can't you just for once, take a minute to gather your thoughts and write an intelligent piece, that sums up your thoughts on the post ? Why do write a couple of sentences, post them, then keep doing it ? - repeating yourself again and again. You never seem to have one constructive thing to say about anything or anybody, apart form the fact that they're all morons and always completely wrong. I just thank the stars you aren't really involved in our club in anyway. You have no knowledge of finance , business or the logistical know how needed to tie a shoelace. I wouldn't trust you to run a tap. You don't love your club, you just love moaning about it.
Tommy, I assume it means the weekly wages, agent fees and transfer fees paid. So LIW is right in saying if it was £9.5m and we got £750k for Kasper and £1.75m for Max this would increase the budget to £11.5m.
Off which we have since signed Pugh for £500k.
Of course we don't know exact figures.

Andrew Srauss has read the programme notes and sent an urgent message to Mr Bates to get out to Dubai in time for the next test.
Tony
You don't know my backround, so don't s h ite
I work in finance, and been involved in businesses which have been run well and some that haven't
What's your background
Cas, the Budget is a figure set at the beginning of the financial year, which I would think in English football would be July to June. This is then what is supposedly available for player transfers, wages and bonuses for that period.
If your wage bill at the start is below budget you have money to spend. If it is above you don't.
Money spent or received from transfers doesn't affect the budget. The budget is normally fixed for the period.
However if someone comes along and invests money, the budget could be increased. Conversely if there is an unexpected expenditure, say a tax bill or court fine, the budget could be reduced.
How the budget is calculated is another matter.
As for blaming the manager for being overbudget, that is wrong. The board and in particular the FD and or Chairman would have thefinal say. Ultimately THEY are responsible.
Tommy LIW's hatred is not just directed at Bates though is it?

You are so wrong, it's been stated on quite a few occasions, money made from selling players goes into Grayson pot.
And that's whats happened, which I agree is the right thing to do
If anybody believes the 1st paragraph from Bates programme notes i suggest they see their Doctor on monday.
I only hate bates, I just don't rate grayson
If the budget is 10 million and the wage bill is 12 you are 2 million over. If you get 1 million for selling a player, you are still 1 million over budget. Where is that wrong. All the talk about money in the pot only applies when you are under budget.
Thought you worked in finance?

The budget (that's including transfer fees and wages ) was 9.5m. We've sold kasper for 750 and gradel for 1.75m
So the total budget is now 12m
Bates has said the money committed for te season is 11.7m
So he's still got money to spend
What are you on about
