As far as I'm concerned football was meant to be a contact sport I mean yes dangerous career destroying tackles are wrong (not that they dont get payed enough to compensate for that) but a 50 50 challenge they should be able to go for it without fear of reprisals.
Saying that the decision would have gone against wednesday because refs dont like us ... I blame Megson.
I'm hearing Marshall is definately not signing a new contract at Stoke and will be sold to anyone matching his very high wage demands. Do Huddersfield want such a player who will turn his back on the Premier League for a bigger wage?
All rhodes lead to Leicester..
..or maybe not..
..but it is a quick snip off the M1 for the ones wrapped in cotton wool
he might still go to you lot yet!
i,m sure your owner wants to clear his name before spending.
tbh he,s just a growing band of mercenary,s who,s just out to get as much money has he can....we have a couple kaye and roberts..
he will will let his contract run down and get a massive signing on fee in the summer..or someone caves in and payes over the odds......poor attitude for a young talent with all his career ahead of him...
if mandaric is found guilty, he will automatically fail the football leagues criteria for being a chairman or a member of the board of a football league club.. harrys is just a london club manager and they are all capable of a bit of "naughtyness" and a criminal conviction wouldnt preclude him from remaining as manager at spurs, or even england..
Be honest in his hey day, would you have bought a second hand car of terry veneables????
if marshall wants too much money he can just f-ck off and sit on the bench at stoke, hopefully one of their big lads there will punch him in the face a few times and return him to reality...
Going back to the original thread - too right this is going to be one of the tightest battles to go up this year. Even Charlton are not sure to run away with top spot (though looking like they may).
Although I rate both the Sheffield teams and their fans, I cant stand either manager. So on the basis I also rate Huddersfield and have nothing against their manager, and cant vote for my team - I'll go for Huddersfield.
On the basis of who puts most (and most entertaining) posts on 606 from the top 5 clubs - then Charlton and Sheff U should be relegated, Huddersfield and the Owls should take the automatic places and we will be in the play offs.
See you guys soon down at Stadium MK - and yes we do have more concrete cows and roundabouts ! COYD
Wigan, Blackburn & Bolton...darn.
Boro & Ull to miss out.
Donny & Barnsley to stay up.
&,
TOWN, Sheff Wed & Sheff Utd to get promoted in that order.
(I disagree with the comment below )
Only problem is, while I really don't want united to go up automatically if we miss out, I also don't want to meet them in the play-offs. Don't get me wrong - I'd be more confident of beating them over two legs than I would, say, 'udders. I just don't want them winning any 'glory' games against us!
Just to add, I'd also be more confident of beating them in a one-off game - i.e. play-off final.
Why? I always think they're going to stuff us 4-0. Law of averages.
That's why I don't want to play them in the play-offs - in case the unthinkable was to happen. The '93 semi remains the biggest game in Sheffield football history, I'd hate them win what could well be the 2nd biggest!
I'd be less confident against 'udders simply because they're a bit of a bogey side for us at present. Having said that, so were Brentford the last time we were in this division - until the play-offs when we took care of them fairly comfortably.
.......going on to sign Deon Burton..
There's plenty of games to go - Danny Wilson's ponies will fall away just like 'Udders.
We are Meggos Machine - grinding out the results, whirring and clunking away in an 'athletic' fashion. Just like Sir Ralph Halpern we have that seven times a night staying power.
Up The Owls!!!!
problem with wendies is that matches last for 90 minutes..
if they start playing 40 minutes each way you might be top???
Nah we like to support charity its good to give away the odd late goal.
Keeps the fingernails short!
And injury time should be changed to "here have an equalizer" time.
See in the Sun yesterday Beattie got to grips with one of the Charlton players didnt he!
he might as well have a roll around because he hasnt been able to play for a few years now..
i like the idea of blaming the ref when two teams of so called "adults" start pushing each other and mouthing off..
make em all go and stand in the corner and "think about what they did"..might be an idea???
The Charlton sending off.......another ridiculous refereeing decision!
In response to the very pertinent comment by Mr. Hooker, I should point out that we don't do Play-offs or Semi-Finals - in over fifty years of watching them, they've yet to turn up.
I trust that your fears are now fully allayed, and that this bulletin has been of assistance.
