I don't think we need to move Jelavic on.

I'm sure he can motivate himself regardless of the situation.

And I wouldn't fret about what the papers say either. They are written for morons by morons.

I agree with you, and I'll be honest and just ask the question to you Rangers supporters, is Craig Whyte releasing this information to make it appear as if he is trying harder to get players than he actually is?

"However, the Gers supremo has been warned that he will be very lucky to get his asking price for the Croatian – by former QPR boss Neil Warnock.

Warnock was keeping tabs on the 26-year-old when he was in charge at the London club before he was sacked and replaced by Mark Hughes.

He said: "I know what Rangers value him at, but whether they get anywhere near that is another matter. I would be surprised if anybody paid that much for Jelavic.

We watched him at QPR and were not very impressed."

In a nutshell

I am not really concerned with what the papers say.

I am concerned with how the club looks.

And right now we look very very silly.

And I am even less concerned with what that tool Warnock has to say.

I don't think the club have done anything wrong with regards to Jelavic this window.

It's the media that keep saying this and that club are interested, and that West Ham made a bid. The club and Ally have said that no official bids have been made yet.

Obviously we're going to say our assets are worth more than they are. Was just last week or so that Lennon was saying Hooper was worth £35m.

Quotes from Neil Warnock?

Scraping the barrel.

coach the use of the word amateur is quite appropriate when analysing whytes dealings so far!

gone of the days when we conducted our business in private and most fans found out about a transfer when he was signing at ibrox.

so much for whyte and his £25m, he has managed to fool the majority into thinking he is our saviour yet are we really any better off than when lloyds were in control?

I agree jelavic has to go, while he is a good honest pro the amount of speculation can't be good for him and can't be 100% commited to the cause. problem is though, who do we replace him with?

I heard the Jelavic deal included Piquionne as part of the deal, but Rangers just wanted cash.

THats how we are currently portrayed by the media.

So clearly you do care what the papers say.

They will clutch at straws in an attempt to exagerate any situation and whip people (like yourself) into a frenzy.

An 85% committed Jelavic is better than what we've got.

Good enough for me.

You are aware that he said this as a joke?

We obviously are. Davis, McGreggor and Whittaker wouldn't have been given new contracts, maybe Whitts shouldn't have anyway. They'd have been sold for less than they were worth and who knows who we would have been left with as replacements.

We obviously aren't as skint as people are making out if we are rejecting bids for Jelavic. Having no money to sign players doesn't mean we are desperate to raise revenue.

would it have been a bad thing to lose whittaker, davis & mcgregor?

davis and whittaker have been off form since last season and Alexander would do a job for us in the SPL.

in any event it's not like these players are safe from being sold with wyte in charge

Guidi and Spiers said there was a bid last night, but it included Piquionne as part of the deal.

But whether they are truthful is a completely different matter.

posted on 26/1/12

No one has made an official bid for Jelavic.
Jelavic isn't worth £10M
Neil Warnock opinion matters, as he was interested in the player for a long time.
Rangers are in danger of having Jelavic after the transfer window closes. He wasn't a very happy chappy when Rapid didn't want to let him go.

how could we afford piquionne's wages?

he has been a PL player for a few years now and i can't see him taking a cut to come to us!

Are you joking?

Aye it would have been a good thing to lose three of our best players for next to nothing

Cause Whyte's been selling all our players hasn't he

I don't like Whyte, but the mess we are in is not his fault. All he's done so far is tie down our best players whose deals were running out and signed 8 or so players.
