Agreed. I would rather have azhar being out than shafiq, i think shafiq is the better player and can attack now and again too.....
True Shafiq was coming out of his shell before he got out. Adnan has to play his shots. No point blocking and then edging one in a bit.
adnan sweeping alot - lbw coming........
Run rate 1.83 this morning
To add salt to the wounds, we're getting done by an indian
btw really happy Monty has taken wickets - he so clearly loves taking them and have missed seeing him bowl for england!
Booooooo Afridi, unlike most of our team, this one is english. Born in Luton
Voice how good would England be if they dropped the 6th batsman and played Bressie when fit which would then allow England to play both Monty and Swann?
I was only messing voice - course hes english . With this performance he's nailed on to play for the 3rd test next week, but what happens after that? Swann or monty, considering monty has taken the chunk of the wickets?
2 spinners in Sri Lanka too. No need to change.
lead of 88.......
surely raymond and Gulster will offer some kind of fireworks today - its been such a long time since our tail wagged. come on kash, tell me gul will get a 50 and raymond 60
kash - absolutely, i rate bresnan as a bowler more than most it seems, and i believe he averages something silly like 43 with the bat so far. While none are all-rounders as such i think broad, bresnan and swann add up to one and allow us to play 5 bowlers.
Afridi - Swann still first choice until Monty outdoes him consistently.
PS good review
Finally Pak get a review right.
As for the tail I think we need Peter Ried to make a famous prediction. It has to wag one day? Both Gul and Ajjy have scored 50s against England.
Voice I think Bressie is almost the ideal all rounder and Broad is a very good bowling allrounder. Bressie has better stats than Freddie.
Here come Amir Sohail - worst commentator ever!!!
Lol he does put u back to sleep.
G.Boycott - Yorkshire legend - serial wumster
"These two batsmen have to start again and sometimes it's not that easy. England might nick one and then the tail is open. They are not good enough to bat long. If they get a 200-run lead they have a chance, but there is no way they are going to do that."
this game is made for azhar ali's low strike rate.
i'll stand by what i previously said, he hasn't show himself to be good enough. maybe he can turn it around, but he hasn't been great shakes against the weakest bowling attacks in the world (new zealand, zimbabwe, west indies, sri lanka, bangladesh)
gul will not score more than 10 runs.
Good knock but not enough.
