Unfortunately, a lot remains to be learned about
depression. It's not merely a state of mind. It's not
something that can be controlled without professional
and sometimes medicinal help.

It does not mean some is weak minded. This is not about laying on the couch feeling sorry for yourself.
It is a very serious condition.

Depression is like debt...... you get yourself into it.

And there we go, as I said, some people, as hard
as it is to believe, don't get the seriousness of it.
That's me out on this.

You tow might want to sync up your fil-o-fax's
on another thread. It might be more appropriate.

Sorry Tuscany but i don't agree.

To an extent you get yourself in it (depression) - but external factors can play a huge part.

batty, agreed it is serious, and fortunatley I've never had to deal with it, but there is warning signs surely, also a friend of mine used to say "I am my own physicoligist" meaning he dealt with things that way...

LUFC Luke, are you coming over for the Man Utd Chelsea game on Sunday?

oh, i get the seriousness of it, my EX's mum suffered from depression, but its because of what she got herself into.

its never the ones who have everything that are depressed , its the ones who have nothing, due to themselves. depression is self regret.

batty, my views may be ignorant on this as I've not had to deal with it, so you must excuse it, however its my opionion that every man is responsibel for how he feels inside, if anything allowed to get to him, and cause depression it must be dealt with...

see spookio, not all footy is it

I was going away. But then you two kept going.

Luke, I don't know if you read about this footballer called
Gary Speed? He played for Leeds among others.
He was a pro footballer at the highest level, played for his country, manager of his country, good looking, had a wonderful family, everyone loved him, wealthy, you name
it, he had success in every corner of his life.

Guess what? Depression struck him. He committed suicide.

Want to rethink your statement of it affects only
those who have nothing?

Good grief man, wake up.

It may be all illness but its induced by self regret, its when people look at it from a single track "im right" kind of view that it gets thrown out of the basket....

Depression is an illness.
