We have already been approached in that sports betting regard. As I say we are still working on the site so that is our priority.
In my unbiased opinion, my idea of approaching football teams to sponsor banners on their respective boards is genius! But that's just my unbiased opinion, of course

Set this thread live.
I think clubs would be unlikely to be raising brand awareness by doing that?
Clubs just haven't realised the untapped potential that lies on internet message boards devoted to them!
It can be cheap (say 50p per week per banner, or something)....but with 92 league clubs and many more non-league ones....it can add up.
I need to patent this idea before someone steals it
I'm not sure if this is just a Google Chrome bug, but once I've posted something on your Live Article, I can't post anything else and have to refresh the page.

This idea will most likely not be entertained, maybe because allows users, who are 16 years of age, to post on the site.

Maestro nah that isn't a chrome bug. Will be something wrong with you system somewhere. Try re-imaging.
This is a new computer, only about a month old.
We have 100s of chrome guys use the live threads and given chrome autoupdates. It won't be a chrome bug or a bug with JA.
Hmmm, I will try and have a look at what's stopping it working on my pc. I'll even test it on my laptop this afternoon.
Why does putting "..." class as spam?
Ahhhhh...it does work, it's just very slow.
It takes about a minute or two for the submit button to appear again.
Maestro,
It's supposed to do that. It let's you know when you can comment again.
Seems like a long wait for a "live" thread.
15 seconds for match threads, 30 seconds for normal threads; as opposed to the 3 minutes that the BBC permitted. As fas we are concerned, it is a good compromise between allowing users to comment and allowing them to spam up the site

-------------
15/30 seconds seems fine, but I was saying it's taking almost 2 minutes for the button to appear on Chrome, on Windows 7.
Firefox seems a bit faster, but still a long delay.
Should be 30s for this thread. If it's longer than that, I would seriously consider getting your computer checked in for repair.
To elaborate, it's because the timer that re-enables the submit button runs locally in the browser and is nothing to do with our server.

This is what I am trying to figure out. Everything in your Javascript seems fine.
