Intersting stats SG. Key one for me is comparing the points amassed by the top clubs this season compared to last and you can see just how much more competitive it is at the top (top 6 clubs) - all with plus 40 points, and four with plus 50.
If I remember last year (it is a while ago and I am not looking up the stats) - we had a poor run and really picked up mid Feb onwards to finish strongly?
Someone said in an earlier post we really needed 9 points from the next 4 games (shef wed included) and so far we have 1. I think we will have done well if we can end up with 5 points - which is clearly not going to be good enough for the auto spots.
Afraid given the strenght of those around us, even if we make the play offs (which we should) unless we are really gelling as a team, we would end up being out muscled by any of the other 5 clubs around us
Not catching my pessimisium are you Moo?
I think the biggest problem is Robinson's lack of Plan B, sides now have worked out how to play against MK Dons. Just 12 points since the start of December out of 24 is not promotion form.
In fact if you look at the stats by month, this isn't a one off slump
August 13 out of 15
September 6 out of 15
October 8 out of 18
November 9 out of 9
December 7 out of 12
January 5 out of 12
With both Huddersfield and Charlton to come in the next 2 weeks.
Had my jabs for the year Bill, so should be ok on that front There are still loads of games to go, so maybe we should have the cowshed looking like this when we play Charlton:

There are certain things I am concerned about.
We havent got enough steel in midfield, this is not something new, we find it hard against physical teams.
Martin in my opinion doesnt command his box, he is too easily blocked off by big physical players and then moans about it after the ball is in the net.
We stiil havent got a consistent goalscorer, McDonald has stopped scoring, and we havent got anyone in the top ten scorers in League One [ yet again ].
We have had over 3 million in transfer fees yet have spent nothing.
Perhaps we can get Baldock back on loan as he looks surplace to West Ham.
We will make the play offs but we have to beat the teams in the top six, something we have not been doing, so I think an auto place is out of the question.
agree about Martin
disagree about midfield
agree about attack - not sure Sam is the answer though - lets see how Smith slots in - a couple of touches on tuesday showed his class and strenght - challenge will be if the rest can keep up
