Why is this on our board? Other than us being involved in it isn't really relevant to the points you are making.
As you can tell the result still hurts.
Just thought you might like to reminise, I was going to mention the part you played in it but didn't want to appear patronising, the look on Keegan and Terry Mac's faces at the end of it were classic, great games
I get Macca on ESPN 2 for their prem coverage along with Ian Darke.
Macca is a very good pundit indeed. Far better than Hansen and Lawro.
was that the one in 96 ? cos didnt you do it again the next season
Siempre
Yes it was and yes we did if memory serves me right
well it was one of those very few occasions when I was in the pub cheering on Liverpool. I felt dirty afterwards, but hey it did win us the league. And we went on the win the double against some team that wore awful cream suits.
It was meant to be the 5-0 we had over man u on according to the info virgin gave me. ESPN Classic was wumming me
Ha ha, why is everyone so down on the cream suits? I thought they were kinda fly - very Don Johnson
it was all David James' idea , as he was modelling for Armani at the time.
I'd just like to ask the op, under rated by whom? For me, growing up, macca was one of my fave players. He was awesome. He could skip round players without breaking his stride.
For me, he was our last great winger. We had berger etc, in the proceeding years, but there has never been a better wingers since. He was magic.
The only thing for him that he probably regrets is leaving Liverpool. He loved the club. But they lied to him. They promised him a contract at an agreed amount, but came back with a lower wage. We forced his hand. The club went back on their word. Shame cause he was a top.player.
People may say he didn't do it for England. But.if you read about him his problem was that if he didn't start, he didn't wanna know. Which again is a shame, cause he could have been an England great.
But for me, an absolute Liverpool legend. I'll always cherish the memories of watching macca tearing left backs a new back side. Quality player.
he did score in a champions league final for Madrid though didnt he ?
Can anyone tell me why s h a gg y is a based word? A) its the nickname of macca and B) the name of a very well renowned artist. Madness. Admin, bit extreme?
Yeah he did siempre, a corker as well. My last comment should have read banned word.
its the first four letters that get it banned
In fact, if memory serves it was the winner. Sure they won by 3-1?
Extreme to say the least siempre.
He will never go down as a Liverpool great IMO, and fans of other clubs never fully rated him, he was seen as an enigma for England and people who don't know football dismiss what he did at Real Madrid.
For fans of other clubs I get the impression he is seen as a scouse scally, mates with Robbie Fowler and a "spice boy" - happy to pick up his money and smoke fat cigars lit with burning £50 notes. Truth is on his day he was every bit as good as Ryan Giggs just not as consistent.
I agree wholeheartedly with you when you say he was our last great winger, the goal v Celtic springs immediately to mind
Well I hear what ya saying but other teams opinions are not my concern. However, I'd defo say he was a great and severely let down by the club. Agree to disagree.
However, I.do agree about the giggs comment. In their day they were the top two for me. The way that both of them could take people on was amazing. You just don't get wingers like that anymore.
Well ones that can take people on and cross a ball.
The above are not my thoughts just how he is perceived by football fans that I have discussed him with, for me he was a great player
Watching this game also makes me sad that Collymore is such a and wasted his considerable talent
Agreed on colly, shame really, another talent wasted. He must regret how it ended in a car park.
Keegan reactions are always classics
