How successful do you feel the proposed Southampton match boycott will be? I see Ken has priced it has a category A match as he always would do playing one of the bigger clubs and one up there at the top but it is on TV.

BO now,

You really are putting in a fair bit of effort to reach the 15 posters on here who aren't representative of the club's fans.

Oh, and I'll do what I want, cheers.

Load of garbage

skb...its a 'live' game so you could do pretty much anything for a peaceful protest i.e hold a protest outside the ground around the sky reporters or turn your back to the game ala istanbul....for 10 mins..

My friend is also close friends with JH and he says Howson is gutted and all the players love Bates because he bought them all puppy's for Christmas

Ah. My bad Dan. I must have got the wrong end of the stick.

See I thought I had! Ken Bates spending money!
But my good friend swears to me it's true, AOB even got a cat thrown in if he agreed to start playing again!

posted on 5/2/12

Dan..

That bit about the cat is made up! I have a friend who is a really good friend of a distant relative of a friend of JH and he reckons it was a gerbil! And it wasn't thrown in, it was thrown at AOB.

Apparently KB breeds them for throwing, he spent the transfer window throwing them at S Grayson.

He did seem as though he was lying when I was asking him what kind of cat it was!
The Gerbil thing makes so much more sense! I called my friend just now he's actually in the bath with JH who confirmed it is a Gerbil breeding factory, apparently costing Bates a Gradel and a Delph!!

Load of rubbish

If it was that bad all players would go on strike.

Let's forget about howson eh? Bottom line is he's a very very average player and has he not been from Morley and a local lad, we wouldn't have given two fucs about him leaving. Sick of all the negative bollokks now, it's getting silly. Get behind the team for fucs sake!

posted on 5/2/12

Getting behind the team is what many of us do.

It is also possible to be against the regime at the same time.

And the players appreciate that.

They don't appreciate being boo'd or harangued.

Now this is what I call getting behind the team, the management, the club.

Along with stuff like:

"Bottom line is [Howson's] a very very average player and has he not been from Morley and a local lad, we wouldn't have given two fucs about him leaving."

That does not read like someone who is behind the team. Sounds more like one o'them haters. You know, #haters.

I'm getting that old Smiths tune in my head "Hypocrisy on the streets of Teesside"

Silly boy bates out, have you forgotten I'm not talking about johnny howson the Leeds player, I'm talking about johnny howson the average Norwich city, premier league player. So yeah I do get behind the team!
You know what makes me laugh most about people like you? That you actually think that all this bates out rubbish is actually gonna make a difference. He's NOT going anywhere, your completely wasting your time. Give up and get behind the CURRENT team.

Dan..

He must be below average when you think about it? He's hardly set the world alight since he's gone there has he?

posted on 5/2/12

Yeah mate I know, maybe he is, but why dwell on things? I don't like bates and disagree with some of his comments and views, but not all of them.
The man is quite simply not just gonna go away because Leeds fans sing bates out, gather round Billy's statue or go for a walk round the city centre waving flags. It's boring and a waste of effort on fans part. Instead lets sing from the first whistle to the last to encourage the players.
The ironic part about the bates out stuff that I think people forget, is he's very rarely at the games anyway, so who are they singing too?

I feel sorry for fans actually called Bates!

Eric..

Apparently the reason for Howsons lack of form at Norwich is Delia offered him 2 puppy's and a cooked dinner if he signed for Norwich which stumps Bates offer of just 1 puppy.
Howson has only received the cooked dinner and says she's a rubbish chef so he refuses to play!!

These puppy and gerbil stories are getting a tad strange now!!

BATES OUT!

posted on 5/2/12

Haha, yeah, maybe the stewards might start asking for I.d on the way through the turnstiles, if your called bates, your not coming in and must be presumed a cockney mafia, wide boy, Chelsea loving bearded old lying basstard!

Dan...

That's as maybe, but when she was younger, I'll wager her puppies were worth seeing!!! Certainly more than KB's!

As people stop going, this hits Bates in the pocket. He would have to dig deep to keep the club afloat. Why? Because he has already been involved in one administration - one more and he is out of football forever. It may not affect him directly, but that would directly hit his family, Harvey and the other current directors (including Lorimer the lapdog).

They are ALL under the real threat of an end to their livelihoods. And who has that big stick?

We do! The fans.

None of the players or managers can do anything except not sign in the first place or not accept a renewed contract. Managers are slightly different - once they are in a job, they do not want to walk away in general because there are so many others also unemployed.

So the one thing that fans can do to get Bates Out is stop buying the product. We have already started.

Average spend on a day at LUFC has stuttered, way below £5 per head. Not even at breakeven at the moment.

ST holders has fallen each year - next season the number of ST holders will have fallen like off a cliff.

The non-ST holders - forgotten the rather derogatory term Bates uses for them - are melting away.

Next year will see an average crowd of much less than £20k.

Bates's business plan requires an average of 22000 attendees. But the last few years with much higher attendances and good cup runs has only seen profit (acc to Bates) because of player sales.

This year will see the club hit deficit. Next year will be massively in the red.

Goodbye Ken. Time to go. Many of us have left, after having saved this club in our huge numbers in our darkest times, and we are awaiting you to shut the door.

Then we will come back in. And you will be forgotten.

As for singing, what's your problem with people doing that about an LUFC subject they are passionate about? Best time for that is when they all come together. Which happens to be at ER.
