I would be in favor of dropping Ade for the Newcastle game, maybe that will get him to buck up his ideas!

It wasn't a boring game IMO, just a game with not many chances, still entertaining though

I found the game fascniating. The 'boring' comment was more of a dig at Liverpool then the game in general.

I don't think dropping Ade will have any impact, he came back after the City game (althought ineligible, not dropped) and didn't look any hungrier or fresher then the others.

It was a short term signing, and has just turned out to be slightly more short term then we intended.

i'd go along with your reviews thou...ade,oh my,offered nothing a lone front man shld...no movement...no running the channels...the ball don't stick...a pro shldnt have THAT bad a first touch.....

but most of all,he don't look like he gives a hoot....

drop ade he doesnt deserve a starting place over defoe or saha for that matter.

I agree Junction, he looks more worried about retaining a friendly reputation with opposition players then he does scoring for us.

Ade is a strange one, reports are we are looking to sign him permanently, not sure we should really do this, at the moment he is no where near worth the wages he would ask for and he is not the goal scorer we are desperately after

I think the only form of entertainment Ade can provide us with now, is his post-match interviews. We should send him instead of Harry to talk to the cameras

I think you're too hard on Ade

He held the ball up well, you could always pass to him even when marked and he'd get and keep the ball, and was generally a handful.

No one supported him was the problem. Did you really expect him to take on 4 defenders himself, with no support or anyone to pass to at all, and score?

Come on, he did well.

When Adebeyor came to City the gooners warned us and we didn't believe them. They were right.

Compare with Caroll - worked his socks off and won everything in the air, even had some good touches. Didn't score but didn't give up.

You were better off with Crouch, his attitude is better and he scores occasionally.

I almost laughed when we saw the shot of Ade waiting to see if his number was going to be shown - he looked like a guilty kid being called by his mum. He knew he'd played poorly last night. It was most disappointing because it was through lack of effort more than anything else.

I would go further on Livermore though, and say he was excellent last night. He looked composed in a busy midfield, for a young lad faced with experienced internationals he really showed he can do it. If he can add a bit of Parker-esque tackling to his game he'll be a quality player for years to come

you played it tight, didn't attack much and gave Ade no support.

You weren't mediocre, you're just not used to watching your side play for a point. You've almost never done it before even before you became the side you are now.

That's what it looks like. I don't think blaming Ade for your managers tactics is fair to him.

Even with that line up we expect a better showing from Spurs.
Perhaps tis a sign of the general improvement this season that some of us think thus.

I was more disappointed with Ade because of how poor he was in possession. He's set the bar pretty high for himself, and he gave the ball away too often last night which added pressure to the rest of the team. Fair play to Liverpool though - they didn't make it easy for us.

Like some many in Spurs shirts (Gio etc) , I have reserved judgement til the last possible moment. If Adebayor delivered a 20+ PL goal tally by May, I would still if none of those goals come against our phase 2 opponents (nearly all being top 4 rivals) .

When he is good, he has generally been much better than the Futile Four. As shown in Spurs results. But when he is poor, he still has to be much better. Which he has not been IMHO.

A draw virtually guarateed you a top 4 finish.

A loss and your upcoming fixtures might have caused unnecessary nerves.

No. Our play UP TO the <Citeh> game did that.
What we are asking of Spurs now is whether the squad has the strength to do April 2010 every year, to do G00n/Pooool away 2010/11 every year.

For that is what is needed for Spurs to be a PL top 4 fixture.

I've been a big supporter of Ade but last night he was terrible. His control was shocking & his foot-work looked like a baby Giraffe trying to ice skate.

Considering we had big players out, Kaboul, Lennon, Defoe, Sandro & VdV, i thought we did well to get the point. Bale will be disappointed he didnt convert that 1-on-1 but then Suarez will be equally annoyed he didnt do better with that header.

Parker is such a warrior. Whether he gets stamped on or kicked in the ribs, he just gets treatment, brushes himself down & carries on. No moaning to the ref, no swearing, he's just a real old-school pro-footballer.

I know this is a different debate altogether but he should take the England armband, without a doubt.
