Pah!
WATP syndrome...until Sunday, it was highly contagious
The question that should be asked is why have they waited until now to investigate behind the scenes at Rangers?
Let's face it, questions were there to be asked about the previous regime, never mind the current one, for years, so why has the BBC left it until now to go for the jugular?
All I can say is about time.
Nonsense.
Don't believe anything of the kind. And neither do the majority of Rangers fans in my opinion.
The BBC haven't been saying anything about Rangers, if they were anything it would be anti Whyte.
its harvest time lads.... you reap whit you sow!

I've got years worth of material from the last month,
its gonna be a long existence teddies
Exactly Ivan.
They've had an easy ride from the Scottish media for too long. I suspect the change in ownership and the promises of 'succulent lamb' and trips in private jets has put an end to it.
But they do seem to have a problem with the BBC in particular.

Exactly - now that the gravy train has ended for these guys they've suddenly remembered how to be impartial journalists and report the facts of the matter.
Renegade - agree that the BBC is more anti-Whyte than anything else. Although what I will say is that the fact that Rangers don't talk to the BBC does make it look like the BBC are always spinning one side to the story. If Rangers were to talk to them then I'm sure the BBC, as a supposed impartial public service broadcaster, would allow them the opportunity to put their side across. Whyte is cutting off his nose to spite his face by cutting communication with them.
And there you have it. The old 'succulent lamb' comes out as clear proof that the media had a bias towards Rangers. Doesn't take long for that old chestnut to come out.
To be fair, the succulent lamb interview was the most horrific, cringe worthy thing I've ever read.

As I said, I'm not talking about the Rangers fans on here (althouh there may be a few) but there are many Rangers fans who believe the BBC has an agenda against the club, not just Whyte.
The bottom line is that Rangers are in one hell of a state financially. That means its open season on the man that currently owns the sinking ship. Whyte popped up and claimed that he was giving Ally 15 buzoongaz over 3 years and he was here to steady the ship. Since he has taken over he has done zilch of the promises he has made and infact seems to be making things worse. That is why the beeb are investigating him and that is why we are all happy people. I wasnt looking forward to a debt free rangers with a rich owner on their side and thats what everyone thought was going to happen. Now you have the same if not more debt and a guy that doesnt look like he could give you change of a tenner.

The succulemt lamb interview - Have you never had a meal that you were truly impressed by and banged on about it to everyone within earshot? I do. The rosemary and garlic salt foccacia they sell at Fratelli Sarti's is a wonder to behold. Everytime I go I order it, then go into work on the morning like I've creamed my pants. James Traynor went through a similar experience and Sir David knew where to find his G-spot. Nothing bias there. Perhaps Celtic should've followed suit and employed a decent chef.
I actually feel a little sorry for Whyte as the real villain of this story is David Murray.
Although Whyte has handled the situation badly. Too many false promises and a serious lack of information to the supporters.

Cruising Avenger - true, I do bang on about good meals I have (I once had a wood pidgeon dish out of Byzantium in Dundee that was utterly sensational) but the difference is I do it to my friends, he creams himself about it in a national newspaper.
If my profession was based on the ideal of impartiality and fairness I wouldn't present myself in a manner that would allow people to question that, whether it was warranted or not.
Ivan - You would if you tasted the focaccia!
Let's see.
We have Hearts, a team that is run by a Lithuanian madman, who doesn't pay taxes, or players wages and has a debt twice that of Rangers and states he want's out of the SPL because it's corrupt. He ships in loads of Lithuanian's on loan and sells the first team squad and meddles in the managers job.
Very little investigation/ written about him.
Sir David Murray, took the club to the brink, had his company basically taken over by Lloyds and eventually had to agreed to give up a large percentage of the shareholding to keep it afloat. Was the Chairman behind the EBT scandal and sold the club for a £1 with the tax case looming.
Very little if anything written about him.
A stabbing INSIDE a football ground (knife crime and violence at football!) gets brushed over and no national outcry? Strange there is little mentioned about it. Do we only care about it when religion is involved? Is violence and hate not despicable enough that we only care when we can label it?
Livingsone, Dundee and Motherwell have all been in administration in recent years, no deep digging on their financial dealings or background was done. Dunfermline had to ask all it's players to take hefty pay cuts to avoid administration.
Gretna is now extinct following administration and very little negative press was written or reported about this.
Contrast all of that with Rangers and Craig Whyte.
Someone steps in to take over an ailing club from the previous regime, tackle the tax issues is constantly hounded about perceived inconsistencies over a DECADE ago that has led to no formal charges or prosecution. Any and ALL trouble with fans is whipped up to a storm and you quickly begin to wonder why the BBC is spending this time and effort to smear Craig Whyte, because they aren't offering anything new, only casting up old issues and hedging them with 'sources indicate' and 'alleged' nonsense.
Plus Tam Cowan does it every week in the DR with his food reviews.

And why do you think that is?
Avenger - I'll have to try this focaccia!
And I don't read the DR thankfully.
Paisley - I think the Hearts situation has been closely scrutinised by the media here. In fact, many a Jambo complains about the treatment they get in the press and the constant negative publicity they receive. Read any tabloid and they destroy Hearts at every given opportunity. What I will say is that it is hard to give further scrutiny to Romanov because most of his dealings have been abroad, particularly in the Soviet satellite states, and it is very hard to get any information regarding his dealings there.
I can say for a fact that the Dundee situation was given significant coverage obviously in the local press here. Why wasn't it given so much in the national press? Because Dundee are a small club who won't sell papers. That's the difference between them, Livi and others compared to Rangers.
I actually don't know what the knife crime thing is about so I'll plead ignorance on that.
Sorry to break this to you, but Rangers are big news in Scotland so it's only natural that they'll be investigated. It's the equivalent of you asking why a local corner shop isn't being investigated while an investigation into Tesco or Asda's practices are ongoing.
"Can anyone explain to me why the BBC would have it in for Rangers? "
Why don't you ask "Quite a few bears (not necessarily on here)"
Pffft
I've no idea because the BBC won't say what it is about. Throwing muck is all they have done so far. If they have something on Craig Whyte, then fess up with it and deal with it.
The BBC has sunk to the gutter recently with their approach to things, as someone in another thread said, they throw a lot of $hite around and see what sticks, and it's not equally applied to everyone.
