The funny thing again is outside of England guess what.........no one cares. Only the English care what is happening, this isnt even a news story anywhere else. Why people are saying this will look bad on the nation i have no idea, because no one outside of England cares, they only report on the carp being spewed by the English gutter press. Look at news stories from around the world and you will see no one is reporting on this issue apart from the English.

Is this referring to the appointment of Capello?

The Americans are reporting it:
http://www.nesn.com/2012/02/fabio-capello-resigns-as-england-manager-after-john-terry-stripped-of-captaincy.html

Plus why would other nations report it. Why as English people, are we so arrogant that we think any other nation would care who our manager is?

I know of Del Bosque, Low and Blanc and they're the only other international managers I know. Why would people care about England?

Elvis everyone has been stating it will be "bad for the nation" from MPs to Journos to the correspondants at Sky and the BBC.............

Fred you on the right article mate - the OP:

Did the FA and Media blow JT's case out of proportion?
Yes, 'racism' has zero tolerance, but the 'accused' in this particular incident, hasn't even been found guilty.

Some people are blaming Terry for this whole mess, but the FA should have thought about the consequences, when they decided to take matters into their own hands.

I think both the Suarez and Evra cases were blown out of proportion but that's just my opinion.

It is a sports news story in other countries though, not front page stuff but it's geting some coverage. It's bound to be a bigger deal in England though isn't it?

agree with you Fred.. we've gotta stop this zero tolerance nonsense and be more open minded. Evra insulted Suarez (and admitted it), Suarez (according to Evra) insulted Evra... i dont see the difference whether its your sister, mother, hair, fat, colour of skin etc...an insult is an insult. There isnt a scale of which insult hurts the most as everyone is different. What about Lampard being called Fat Frank for example throughout his career!!?? that is for me light years more of an insult than what Suarez and Terry "probably" said.

I dont think so other than the huge coverage it is getting here, and then the subsequence things that have happened ie Cappello quitting i think you will struggle to find a story reported by a foreign paper that does contain "Reported by BBC UK or Sky UK". But that is just my opinion and what i have seen. Having lived outside the UK for a number of years and seeing big stories on the BBC website and then trying to find stories locally to where i was almost impossible.

Fred mate agree 100% and having lived in a latino country i can tell you what Suarez said is 100% the truth. You call a coloured person a N with certain sub fixes like Suraez did no one would but an eye lid, you call them black though and they will smack you in the face..............

What Terry is purported to have said is in my opinion less hurtful than what Suarez is purported to have said (although I'm only basing that on what the rumours are), but both are racial and not having been the victim of racial abuse I guess can't really opine on whether that's worse than being called "Fat Frank". I would have to think it would be, particular for an ethnic minority.

I think "black c*nt" is worse than "why, black?" But each to their own I suppose.

What about the infamous Dianne Abbot and her racist comments towards all white people, should she be sacked from her job too ??

Or does this zero tollerance have a whiff of apartheid about it and apply to white people only

This does seem to be the case. And this is no fault of any race but the PC Brigade who go over the top in trying to find fault. As we all know, every race is equal, so should be treated equally, whereby saying a black person is black is allowed. Where saying the n-word is not allowed to be used by either white's or black's. At the moment these two things are causing a problem.

Quick question-

How many of you, having verbally abused an opponent and got some back would

a) run to the ref?
b) have a word with the opponent after the game?

Which is exactly why you could argue (putting PC stuff aside) that Terry didn't say anything racial per se, granted it's flimsy but technically accurate. Whereas Suarez implied by his (rumoured) comments that he was treating Evra a certain way because of his race.

Well correct me if im wrong but if you are black it is OK to call another black person a N? Please dont quote me on this and this just may be a silly boy basing his views of black people on rapping videos and Hollywood movies.
