doughty didn't gift us any money, he loaned it and the debt includes substantial interest and nobody is currently doing a very good job.
expectations are probably unrealistic to the degree of 'belonging' in the premier league (we don't) but we've only had three seasons under doughtys ownership where we've had a side any better than poor.
we needed to borrow doughtys money mainly because we've been run so poorly but he didn't put in anything like the amount he wanted us fans to believe. if you look at our results as a whole over his 13 years they tell a very sorry story.
in summary, whilst we don't 'belong' in the premier league, with the size of the club and the money that has been wasted we should have a lot more to show for it and i don't think there is any credible argument to the contrary
Nothing short of two more European Cups will do for the Reddog fans.

I don't see Forest as any bigger than Derby. And they've been a mid-table Championship for almost as long as Forest. 2007-2008 excluded of course
So you should be around Derbys level, which for the best part of 13 years you have been.
How you can cay you've wasted lots of money, when fans frequently condemn the board for not backing the manager financially? That doesn't make sense

you've shown your hand son, just a muppet on a wind up.
our last accounts suggested we are spending 105% of our turnover on wages but we have a tiny squad with huge holes in it. that isn't possible unless you're wasting money hand over fist.
it isn't that money hasn't been spent it's that the money that has been spent was without forethought or intelligence. for example, you don't give a 32 year old whose legs have gone a 3 year contract on 15 grand a week (jonathan greening) and then start going on about financial fair play rules that may or may not come in to force.
doughty put in about 60m over 13 years, that should have been enough to do a lot better combined with the turnover of the club. however, poor decision making at all levels means we haven't even got old rope for that money.
Just as I suspected, there is no intelligence in deepspace.

Deepspace, maybe we do have high expectations but no more than many other teams. Teams like Forest, Derby, Leicester, Norwich, the Sheffield clubs, West Brom, Birmingham, Wolves and quite a few others are teams of a similar size and all of these teams probably think they should be in the top flight. Even discounting the Clough era Forest have won as many or more trophies than many of these clubs.
The original 'Big 5' were Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton, then more recently with the huge influx of money Chelsea and Man City. Add to these Villa and possibly Newcastle and that would make up the teams that you would say are definate Premiership clubs then there are probably 20 or so clubs who of a similar size that none of them would look out of place in the Premiership.
If you want Forest fans to forget the Clough era then you would need to tell Man U fans to forget Busby, Liverpool to forget Paisley, Leeds to forget Revie and Everton to forget Kendall.
Love the way you dished it out last season but get all holier than thou when your struggling. Would you like salt for the chips on your shoulders?
