Having seen such decline and skin of the teeth survival in the past years, throwing money in buckets at the old dog track Bridge to help keep us alive, having spent thousands in support of a club I love with an intensity, I don't think the term 'transition season' justifies such a horrible implosion presided over by a boy who took on far too big a task. The likes of us can have our opinions lots of these lads don't really know what the dark ages were like but they are entitled to their views. Mate, do you seriously think that AVB is capable of winning the Champions league? two wins in the last ten in league, scrapped a win v QPR, struggled for 80 odd minutes v Pompey in FA Cup, no way will AVB be able to lead us to Champs league victory, and I very much doubt we’ll be in Champs league spot at end of season. Sad but obvious

CFC, i totally sympathise. You need to treat these comments in the same spirit as watching a dog howling at the moon, or barking at a cat. Can be irritating, but they just cant help themselves.

Agreed 100%. I was there with you through those dark times and I believe I have earned the right to criticise what I think is glaringly wrong with the club and I don't need someone telling me that I am plastic for offering a different opinion to theirs.

People say AVB is not a man motivator but he managed to propel a relegation fodder side(Academica) to mid table comfortably and the Porto side who were dire by their own standards the season before he managed them.
He got all the Porto players firing on all cylinders as a result winning the quadraple(including the Europa league which people will disregard but the fact is strong sides from the CL drop down to the competition) going the season unbeaten.
My point is we should give him time,let me build a team like he did at Porto,sacking him would be a mistake. Obviously It is going to be harder because the PL is of a higher standard to the portuguese league,but we need stability now. Can't keep sacking managers.
I have a good feeling about AVB long term.
