Talking about Everton what ever happened to Dean Marney remember he scored 2 crackers against Everton and now my memory is blank with what else he did.

Ah, Dean Marney. I always maintain that anyone who was at the Lane that day, will never forget his 2 crackers. Plays for Burnley now.

Sandrothebeast - My best mate supports Plymouth, and often when they are nearby I go to the games with him (in all honesty I love these games, there is something so fun with listening to people shouting comments out in the accent that I still find funny and the fact you can sing 'dirty northern bstrds to every club).

A game against Southampton (0-0) was so dull I actually wished for the plane that was flying overhead to crash into the opposite stand so we'd have something to watch to pass the time.

Yes, sandrothebeast, Marney was at Hull for a while under Phil Brown.

I do remember Steve Slade, he scored goals for fun in our reserves but ended up in non-league football. I believe he's still playing somewhere and still struggling.

Was he in our reserves at ther same time as Mark "Champagne" gower who i was convinced would make it at the club. To be fair to him he dropped down the leagues but has down well to get to swansea but really thought hed make it big. Whats lee barnard up to these days spurcat? Another 1 who scored goals for from at reserve level

I'm sure if you stood outside Faces nightclub, you wouldn't have to wait too long to meet Ledley

Lee Barnard is still at Southampton, but not getting a game. He did well there when he first joined and is well liked by their fans, but the general consensus is that his forthcoming trial has affected him badly.

If you recall, he has been charged with assault. So he can have a fair trial, it was agreed to hold it away from Southampton, but when they turned up at Salisbury court, it was double booked and so Barnard's case was put back for 6 months !!

Mark Gower was around at the same time as Slade. Not quite sure why it never worked out for him at Spurs. As you say, he seemed a certainty to have a decent career with us.

Was thinking about Guy Butters this morning. How could someone with a name like that think they'd be a top footballer!?
