Maf, you've got the wrong board mate. We're talking about Champion's League not Championship.

we've already got three knocking about in our trophy cabinet. we thought we'd give smaller clubs like yourself, and history-less clubs like chelsea a fair chance this year while we win the europa instead.

@duns,

Thanks for your generous offer or shall i say Basel are too good for you.

There is a distinct lack of interest in the CL this year, presumably because there are no British teams who stand any chance of winning it.Its like watching hearts in the SPL watching Arsenal, utterly pointless.
If city & utd decide to have a real go at the Europa league there will be far more interest than watching the Londoners flounder and embarrass themselves
Just sayin

I agree Chelsea and Arsenal have litte chance of winning the Champions League but again, I'm excited it's back. You just know Real and Barca will come head to head at some point - hopefully the final - and that's what it's all about. United and City only have themselves to blame but both of us know it's a blip we won't allow to happen next year. For Chelsea and Arsenal it could be there last time in it for a few years. So enjoy.

mafiaboy, i'll even have a word with david gill and see if he'll let you lend one of our european cups. we've got three, i doubt we'll miss one. you can put it in your dormant trophy cabinet. now how's that for a generous offer?

19/3. we are the benchmark.

Given the dire finances at OT, you wouldn't be surprised to see auctioning your trophy cabinet..

Really Dire. When FFP comes in I think you'll find we're well placed for the next fifty years at the top.

Real Madrid for the title....
Arsenal/chelsea just making up numbers....
i mean we're on a lose lose, we're already out, so they brag, they lose in the knockouts and they'll still brag.
We win Europa, and they'll still brag.
They scrape 4th spot, and we come second with a gap difference of 20, and they'll still brag.
two defeats in the league, including an 8-2 blocking... and they still brag.
to be a gooner, eh.....

Funny that the three teams linked in the article are the three guranteed to be there next season, maybe we'll revisit this poor wum of a thread then, maybe not.

Good luck Arsenal and Chelsea. You need to win this competition this year because one of you won't be in it next year

The three best teams in England are city, united and spurs.

Everyone including the OP are aware of this reality despite the strange happenings of the cl this season.....

The United players planned it, it now means that they can spend tonight with their wives/girlfriends or in Giggs' case both

Well said, and they will be very fine representatives in the coming years in the CL.
