I'm sure UEFA are absolutely thrilled that both us and City are playing in the Europa League.

The amount of interest that both us and City will generate won't do the competition any harm because let's face it, the Europa League isn't what it once was when it was the UEFA Cup.

Can't wait to see man utd winning the europa league and barcelona thrashing arsenal again. Arsenal made champions league history by not even having a shot, funnily enough when van persie tried to shoot when the whistle had gone he got a 2nd yellow card. When bendtner had the chance I was hoping arsenal player will shoot no it got snuffed out.

--------

what i find funny about this is that inter made the exact same piece of champions league history the season before. didnt know you could make it twice

yeah but Inter actually won the cup.

Enjoy making the numbers up fellas, you've had plenty of experience at it.

Never has a club been so proud to make up the numbers.

iV wIL5H3RE iV- Making Swansea look like Barcelona since the 15th January 2012 (U9880)

Inter at least managed a shot and were down to 10 men for ages that game. Funnily enough arsenal player van persie got sent off for having a shot offside and bendtner had the chance to win it but dribbled it to the goalkeeper.

You managed to score a goal from an OG.

I still reckon van persie heard the whistle but shot in anger would he have shot if he hadn't heard the whistle from 40yds no way. It may be harsh but thats football.

I assume these 3 teams have been tagged because those are the only teams from England that are sure of having champions league football next season.

I wonder which of the poor also rans not good enough for a title challenge will also make it ?

Sunderland, Everton or Newcastle ?

that shows that inter had no shots

Having no shots and winning your tie is hardly going to be criticised though is it...

I reckon basel will get thrashed 1-4 in 1st leg and 6-2 second leg so probably will finish 10-3.

We could have scored easily 14 against arsenal but then against arsenal could have scored 5 or 6 in the 8-2 but basel were just lucky. Even the bbc said we could have scored 8 by the 50th minute and we missed 3 sitters in the 90 minute on top of scoring. We had the worst goal from shot conversion and that cost us. We missed around 15 one on ones in the group stages if we score them every game looks like we won easy.

Basel home and away we desrved to win on chances and benfica home we had 6 great chances missed while we gifted benfica 2 goals who did little else. Even benfica away 1st game giggs had all the time in the world through on goal but took to long to make it 2-1. Never seen a campaign with so many ifs and buts.

We were on course to qualify on top with a game to spare before we threw another goal away against Benfica at 2-1.

Even against basel away rooney missed a sitter first half I believe but in the 90th minute like the home game we had chance to score 2 or even 3 goals. I suppoe if you waste that many chances and gift so many goals you are going to be knocked out.

whoops, one thing true op, only decent teams will be left after this round

Arsenal aren't even one of the best teams in Islington.

An embarassment to the PL.

No worries, I'm sure you'll score 5 in the retur... pffff mwah ah h ah, there's no point.. hha h ah ahha haaaa. It's quite a thing to make a 2 legged affair into a foregone conclusion after 1 leg.

Have you made yourself look a mammary gland OP?

I'm sure my butter will resemble the Arsenal defence when I stick my hot knife in it tomorrow morning.

He's van Persie, he scores when he wants : errr.. nope.

There's a result I didn't see coming. How could Benfica lose to a team like Zenit?

Write to UEFA and see if they'll let you play the tie over 4 legs so you have chance to catch up.
