I've heard that the Barca fans are not too bothered if he comes or not.

They think they're youth players are more than good enough to play and that the money is not worth it

He's worth a fortune!!!!!!!!

Excelling in a team with an injured Van Persie and a non existent defence is the stuff of genius.

He will flourish at Barca and will make them an even greater force.

I expect £42 million in the bank next month!

Me too.

But the Barce board are totally obsessed with getting a player that on the face of it they don't actually need, they just want him.

I think reading between the lines it's clear now that last pre-season that "chat" between Wenger and Cesc was an agreement to let Fab go "home" this summer, provided of course Barce are prepared to stump up the readies...

Personally Im dying for Cesc to stay.I think Wenger obviuosly doesnt want him to go but made him a promise last season so they want to keep their word but at the same time hoping Barca dont come up with the cash.

I do think the bids and possible transfers are being done to excite the players (Samir and Cesc)

personally looking at the replacemenyts nothing comes close to Cesc, infact everyoine knows bar Xavi & Iniesta nobody is better and what makes it worse is Cesc could possibly be better and more direct than those 2 in the prem.

I would rather Nasri leave, he slows down our play and is gen indecisive.

I do like Alvarez(yes, based on the you tube clips).
He is fast, very direct, fairly strong, an eye for a pass and for once an Arsenal signing that is tall and good looking.

We asked 100 Barcelona fans how they'd spend £40 million.

Hookers!

Our survey says *ping* that's our top answer. 5 more of those and you win a car to share with your extended family. Hurrah!

That isnt true too. Wenger didnt make a promise to him.

Also he isnt free to leave. Wenger wants him to say and he will.

"400 million black-jack bars"

Imagine how black your tongue would be. When you opened your mouth people would think that their vision had gone monochrome.

a) Will Barce actually stop taking the Michael and offer the going rate for a world class midfielder with his best years still very much in front of him?
-------------------------------------------------

This won't happen no matter what. Even the 45 odd million we are reportedly willing to accept is way below the going rate for one of the best midfielders in the world with his best years still ahead of him.

Fabregas willingness to leave for Barca is already forcing our hand on that front

What's it like not having articles like this infested with WUMrats? I envy you

Fabregas at Barca will pretty much make them unbeatable for the next 3 years IMO. He's worth at least £45m.

Honestly, he wouldn't get into the starting 11. Not with Xavi and Iniesta fit, he won't play a holding role so Busquets is safe as well. Just a 40 mil squad player I guess.

Xavi has ongoing tendonitis problems, they need a decent replacement for when he can't play for a couple of seasons and an out and out replacement after that.

True, he probably wouldn't get in their starting 11 currently. However, with Barca in various competitions they will need an expansive squad. As well as this Xavi is 31. I know that's not that old considering his game isn't about pace but obviously they will need a replacement sooner rather than later.

I can't see the point of this press release, unless it means that AFC is preparing you Gooners for the news that Fab is going for £30 million.

Barca have consistently said, time and time again, that they are not prepared to pay your over-inflated valuation for the player, and they've made it clear that they are prepared to wait for their man.

However, I am willing to bet that Fab has told Whinger that he wants away this Summer and that he's not prepared to wait. It would be awful if Fab was forced to put in a transfer request, especially given all the flannel that's been said about him being "happy" to be AFC. We know that's not true, as the current news makes amply clear.

I would to think that you Gooners will now apologise to all of us neutrals who steadfastly stated, time and time again, that Fab wanted away from you as soon as possible, and who predicted this would happen.

Well?

I'm tired of people saying that Cesc is desperate to go, because it's based on absolutely nothing and just what you want to believe. He wants to play for Barca yes, but he still loves Arsenal and wouldn't mind staying here.

Before you say anything, this is all based on what CESC has said and not some lazy journalism. FACT.

Nasri's agent: Couldnt say it better but some of us want to believe the tabloid.

posted on 27/6/11

Ah, come off it! Surely, you are not so naive to believe what you've read?

The facts, as we know them to be true, are as follows.

(a) Fab wanted away last season, but was forced to stay.

(b) Fab played pants for you last season.

(c) For you last match last season (against Fulham), Fab, the club's captain and fan's favourite, decided he'd rather be at the Grand Prix than applauding the fans at the end of that match.

(d) AFC has won absolutely nothing for 6 seasons.

(e) AFC has released an official statement saying that they are now willing to let Fab leave.

I'm sorry, but I refuse to listen to any more of your rose-tinted clap-trap! If Fab was so happy playing for AFC, your club would not have been forced into making such a humiliating statement.

c.ronaldo wanted to leave united for madrid but fergie convinced him to stay another season before he joined madrid and look at the price they managed to get.
Ronaldo was dying to move to madrid just like cesc.

posted on 27/6/11

Please dont be so deluded to think that Cesc wants to stay. He wanted to go last year. Just because he hasnt put in a tfr request doesnt mean he wants to stay. He just doesnt want to leave the club on a bad note or upset the fans but make no mistake about it. He wants to go.

I know this sentiment isn't shared by many, if any. But I wish we'd just sell him and get this particular dog and pony show over and done with. I'm sick of Barca and quite frankly sick of Fabregas and our entire team being built around him. I see no point to keeping him another season because we'll just get another season of lack lustre half a Cesc performances as we did this season (yes he was injured but had plenty of shockers fit too). HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE AN ARSENAL PLAYER ANYMORE! So let him go and concentrate on restructuring the midfield, we're going to have to do that anyway and the longer we play the whole team around him as we have, is the worse effect it'll have when he does leave.
