It would be commendable, although uncharacteristic of the perception of modern day footballers.

CHARLIE

Whyte said, "I have nothing to fear" then began his next statement with "I will not be attending tomorrow's match".

are you sure you didn't make that up yourself?

it is not something that is going to happen

It would be good for the employees if they did, though. I mean the top earners will almost likely be sold in the summer, they have three and a half months left on their contracts, forfeiting five grand a week could help save the jobs of the tea-lady, stewards, secretaries etc. Although, they are entitled to their full wage and I do not know whether under their contract they could have the power to do this?

Poor Aluko having to take a wage cut.

"But I have to pay back all the relatives who loaned me money just to get here!"

Nope my uncle is pals with one of the groundsmen he told me this. Somebody on FollowFollow who's wife works with Rangers said the same thing aswell so it appears to be true.

A group of players led by Lee went to Ally and informed him they were willing to take half wages for the rest of the season

Let's be brutally honest here. There might not be enough money to pay any wages in March.

The fact the administrators made such a big deal of the players getting paid in February does make you wonder.

If players are indeed going to take a paycut to help out other staff at Rangers FC, then it should be applauded.
It certainly does go against the perception of modern day footballers.
If this does happen, coming from a Celtic fan, I say well done to them.

Some things are more important than money.

Regarding tomorrows game. From a Rangers point of view it will be a good thing to have the place packed.
But, is it not a little bit late for backing the team?
Where were these people when there were over 30,000 empty seats against Dundee United a couple of weeks ago.
Your team, and club, needed them then. Where were they?

Today, I think we heard more of the Rangers supporter in Ally Mccoist, than we did the Rangers manager.

would these new contracts that these players will sign run to the end of the season i suppose then?

that would make sense, although would the money saved by halfing those wages be more than what players could be sold for in july

davis has a 5 year contract for example,i could imagine him taking a wage cut for the rest of this season but not for the next 4 years

it dosen't make sense

So, they have just found the money behind the couch cushions then?

No surrender indeed.

return of the pie clearly not up to date with crwds at scottish cup games at Ibrox

january 2011 rangers v kilmarnock 4th round scottish cup at Ibrox and 13,000 in the crowd

the crowd at the dundee utd game was normal for a cup game

To be fair, when Dundee went into admin they did the same thing. I'm sure the manager was working for buttons too.

Commendable nonetheless.

Polloks, good point. But wasn't that game on a cold rainy night on a Tuesday/Wednesday when Rangers were still in three competitions and the Scottish Cup was not as important as it would have been.

I can't criticise, because I find paying an extra £50 or something for my son and I just to attend another home game as farcical, when I have already spent in excess of £500 on season tickets and the match is on the BBC.
