I'd have to say that 10 points from the games you listed would be extremely optimistic - expecting us to get 10 from 5, when we've only managed 20 from 25 could be beyond our capabilities.

I don't think our ' fate ' will be sealed in March though. I can still see all 3 relegation spaces still being up for grabs (!!) into April, though it's now looking like it's any 3 from 5, whereas it was more like any 3 from 7 a few weeks ago.

The noose is tightening ..but escape is still possible ....

I'd say 8-10 points are achievable in that period, Wolves, Wigan and QPR are all winnable games and if we can get a run going, we can do it. We got 11 from 6 in December/ January.

***Well ..Wigan turned out NOT to be a winnable game! we don't have to rely on form stats for that one!

Despite the fact that before last week that last time we lost against Wigan was in 2008 !!

have to agree about wheater.i think our season depends a lot on how good ream is.need him to hit the ground running like cahill did and previously laville.

Ah, I see ..So your predictions for Bolton games are all based on how we've done historically against those teams! How far back do you look? Just Premiership results, or meetings between us and teams before that?

You must have a stack of stats to wade through .. What's your 'prediction success rate' using this method? (minus the Wigan result of course, as we already know that didn't pan out .... )

I never said we would win the game, just that it is a winnable game, which it is, no matter of the result last weekend.

Sorry Woody, March is not the definitive month ..

There's enough games between now and the end of the season to stay up. Can we learn from our mistakes..?

I say WE, I Clearly mean Owen Coyle and Moses..

****
Well, actually, you did say we would win the game 2-1, with N'Gog the first scorer, but .....
Every game is ' winnable ' in so much as it's 11 vs 11 on the day, and you don't get a goal start or a goal down dependant on previous form between the teams.

Only what happens on the day counts .....

In other words ..... it's a lottery!

Thats exactly what I have been saying !!

We have a great chance in that month of getting results in all but one game IMO.

**Cont**

But yet you are dismissive of getting points from these game, its a very bad attitude to have in a relegation scrap.

If we use this seasons previous statistics, we will get 4 points.

(20 ÷ 25) x 5 = 4

And your attitude?

Delusional?

Why is it that?

Because I think we will stay up? might be optimistic but certainly not delusional ...

When I said it was a Lottery Moses, I was thinkin' our chances of gettin' 10 points from those games was like the odds of winning a tenner tomorrow night .....

About 56.7 to 1

You know all the fans calling for the players to show more passion and fight? Well I suggest you take that advice also, when your in a relegation scrap it isn't just the 11 men on the pitch that keep you up, it's the thousands of fans who kept screaming until the last ball was kicked.

It helps if the manager chips in now and again!

Oh come on Moses, every single user on 606 has given an inch over the last month.. Bar you..

I don't see debate in you anymore.. I see someone arguing the toss to back your stance on Coyle..

No offence, just how I see it...

Aye, but that doesn't make my point any less valid, if the fans ain't up for the fight you can be damn sure the players wont be.

So how are Blacburn above us then?

I can name quite a few posters who haven't changed their opinion, why not call them up on it?

I'd suggest that a number of peoples opinions have changed because of good performances, apart from the Wigan game.

My opinion hasn't changed massively, I support Coyle, but I have been critical, especially of the formation last week.

have my opinion, if you don't like it, then fine.

It's very difficult Woody when I turn up at the Reebok to see us get battered most matches because of the dross our team turns out.

When the palyers show some fight, I'll join their cause; until then I will stay seated & subdued.

Moses ..I know you love to pick an argument ...but do you honestly think someone's attitude, be it dismissive or otherwise, makes a blind bit of difference to the performance, or the outcome?

If we had 40 points from 25 games, everyone would be more optimistic, because the team would have given TANGIBLE PROOF that it's right to be in an optimistic frame of mind. But how can you slate folk for being pessimistic, when ' the proof of the pudding ' is that we've only racked up 20 in 25? Even a lover of stats like yourself can't ignore that, if we've averaged just slightly above a point a game all season, and on more recent form, 8 points from 7 games, then there's not a lot of proof that we're suddenly going to up our points rate (in fact, almost double it) to 2 a game, and get 10 points from those 5 games!

Yes - we might win the lot! But form has a hell of a lot to do with attitude (in balanced thinking, leastways ...)

By a whole point! I really doubt they will be come end of season.
