honest

It is actually very embarrassing to watch, I have never seen such an embarrassing attempt at diving, until I saw Hernandez' left leg at Wolves that is, that was possibly the worst case of diving I have ever seen!

I have to watch that dive from behind a cushion, from behind my sofa, in the next room, it was that embarrassing!

Lads, remind me. A 5-10 years ago, a European game at Anfield, opposition player in front of the kop concedes a free kick, lies on the pitch feigning injury, ref books him for time wasting or faking it, player refuses to get off the desk insistent that's he's injured, ref stands over him for several minutes refusing to restart the game or letting him get treatment. We just wait, poised to take the free kick while (most likely Italian) player lies there 'injured' with the ref unsure what to do.

Did it happen or did I dream it?

I'd never seen that Rooney dive before, but it is pretty damning. No doubt the commentators creamed themselves over his diving technique, as it's Rooney.

spurtle

I think, sorry I remember that the commentators said he was 'caught' and thus went to ground!

It is shocking regardless,

Almost as funny as the dive itself was the English commentary, which said that 'Gilardino went down almost pothumously'

This is the level professional football has sunk to. No wonder it gets so much criticism.

I won't Hernandez. Awful dive. However the video above shows 3 examples of Gerrard doing exactly the same motion. He has been a serial diver throughout his career and yet still has the front to criticise others for doing the same.
