sounds like a good story for a novel in the future.
I am sorry, Arsenal have enough money for a decent defence. Their defence is not as good as teams much lower down. The Sun had a story today that they do no defensive work in training. I do not necessarily believe that, but the way they defend they may as well do none.
Well done Arsene
only fourth place to play for by February
I'm pretty sure Djourou's new contract would put him near the top earners at Sunderland, just shows how hard Wenger has got it .
I think its the board. They're only priority is to make money. I think even if they sacked Wenger, we would still see the same restrictions. We won't suddenly start buying 30m players. A new manager may revitalize the club, but with this board, I see the same theme continuing regardless of who's in charge.
Anyone who thinks its Arsene at fault and not the board is stupid
Usmanov in! Can't he get someone to assassinate Kronke!
I thought Arsenal were one of the wealthiest clubs in England and unlike Man u, Chelsea n City, have actually their OWN money to spend?
All the Arsenal had to do over the last what, 5 or 6 years was to buy two or three top notch experienced players to compliment the young talent. Crazy.
I'm am not an Arsenal supporter, but here is my view:
The notion that Wenger does not receive the money to buy good players is ridiculous, in my opinion. He spent roughly £50million in the summer, it is clear that without David Dein his signings have been shambolic.
If you think Djourou is one of the top earners who are Arsenal spending £130+ million a year in wages on?
Gazidis talks complete buttons as well

Hes apparently on 50k and I said in line with the top earners at Sunderland, learn to read.
The board are ultimately responsible, but anybody who claims Wenger is absolved of blame should be able to explain why O'Neill's Sunderland, put together for far less money than our team, were som comfortable in dispatching us.
A new manager, providing it were the right man, would benefit us.
A new board who prioritises football over profit is essential also.
It doesn't have to be one or the other.

yeah he spend £50, after recouping £70m in sales
It doesn't matter what he brought in, are you honestly telling me that he has spent £50million wisely?
@Gunnerbegood: I was at a Q&A with lee Dixon a couple of years ago and he actually confirmed that Wenger let the defenders get on with their job, opposite to Graham who practiced defence on a daily basis. We make the same defensive mistakes for years, no matter who was playing.
However, today's defeat is not the defeat of the board, it is the defeat of the players who did not show up, they were outplayed and outfought. And it is the defeat of the manager who was not able to motivate the players and to set up the appropriate game plan (if there was any).
It's really doesn't matter if he gets in £70 million if he can then go and waste £50 million of it
It's not a justification if he has wasted the cash, the players he did spend £50 million have delivered virtually nothing for the club
Complete panic buying despite Wenger been aware that the club was going to lose Fabregas and probably Nasri
He was indecisive then panicked.
If you look at Mertesacker, Kos & Vermeulen Wenger has spent £27/28m on CB's in the last couple of years but the defence looks consistently porous

Of course it matters, it's not easy to improve the squad year on year and be asked to make a profit at the same time. Which is why it took City and Chelsea about half a billion each to become a top club. This isn't the SPL mate, Championship players won't win us the title.

Spot on, mate.
Considering Wenger had to fill several positions, he spent the money quite wisely. It was always going to be a struggle though this season.

Then why was your biggest transfer a Championship player?
Your quality may be reduced, but let's be honest, Chelsea have got worse and so have Man Utd.

nonsense tbh, that's just rehashing what we hear in the media but not the thoughts of Arsenal fans who know our problems lie elsewhere.
I agree, our defense has been a shambles for the past 5 seasons and it's not entirely down to personnel though we've had some donkeys playing in there. There's no pressing or any discipline in midfield, with players like Song being given the license to attack, which badly exposes our defense everytime.
Think about this, we've lost countless times to United over that past 5 seasons and 90% of the goals we've conceded against them have been an action replay of each other, if that's not bad management then what is?
