He should continue in tests.
I have a feeling that's what he's going to do continue in Tests, but he's not calling this press conference for nothing...
He's either going to retire all together or just play Tests...

How did work that one out Amir.
Why hold a press conference unless he's seriously considering ending his international career.
This year Australia only have three more tests before the end of September, in the WI. Not a great challenge to look forward to. I reckon he'll retire.
He's been dropped from the ODI side, nothing else... He could easily call the press conference to say he's retiring from the ODI game, but will continue to play tests... But I don't think that will happen.
He is not the greatest modern day batsman, Tendulkar is.
Did I say he was the greatest modern day batsman? Anyway, Brian Lara is the greatest modern day batsman, imo.

Ponting has been finding it difficult to deal with the waning of his talent. It happens to all top cricketers. It's a pity it's taken a selector to make the decision to retire for him.

Maybe he should have refused to captain the last few ODIs and focussed on batting. Hopefully he still hangs around in the test arena anyway.
Deserves Mcgrath, Warne like standoff at his home turf.Class player.

Yeh I hope he sticks around for another year and announces his retirement before his last game. He deserves the sort of adulation that Mcgrath and Warne got.
I think when you get close to thend a player needs challenges to keep going. Having recently played England, South Africa and India with the ashes 18 months away he might call it a day. Unless he and his wife fancy a pleasant caribbean holiday against the WI this year.
