I work mainly with Indians (JLR are owned by Tata Industries) - they are excellent.
I'll see if I can sort us out a leg-spinner.
Some very mixed emotions in all that lot above. Mostly I feel like Olde One Eye has got it about right. And the poster who said GSE would be quite happy to see us in Div 1 (or2) as long as they were in profit has clearly lost the plot.. It is obvious nonsense since we would be making big losses if we were.
Whatever we all think the only way GSE can recover their investment is to get promoted. We need to start from that fact.
We simply have to keep up our support for the team and Nigel
Ramdini
They are quite content to keep drifting along whatever league we are in.
They will keep us ticking over even if we are in non league
They know that a hardcore of fans will keep going no matter what.
They will continue to get lower or non league players in on the appropiate salaries and as long as the board and "investors" get a cut of the money they will not give a hoot where we are.
gse = A bunch of leeches
Cant agree with what Uncle tom.
The lower we finish in the championship the less we get at the end of the season.
Dropping a league means receiving much less and the gates will decrease.
Meaning the players wages will have to drop and so lower quality players and football.
Also less profit from selling players as they aren't worth anything.
So GSE dont make the required profit.
I would love to be informed which professional clubs in Country, or the World for that matter, operate with profits!
I doubt there are any, but would be delighted to be educated on the topic.

I wasnt referring to your comment . Apologies if it came across that way. There have been various comments on this article and the previous which refer to GSE attempting to operate at a profit, so the statement/question, I guess, should have been directed at them. Do you think they would respond to an email on the subject?
No problem SDS
Very much doubt you will get a reply, many have tried and failed. The simple questions seem to get an answer.

if you think Derby are bad at "not-quite-made-its" you should see man utd, spurs, arsenal etc.... they are forever loaning out players who they took a punt on and it never quite happened for them.
Ramdini
Show me where I wrote GSE would be happy to see us in league 2. I think I said they will take us to league 2 and won't care so long as they are making a profit.
GSE turn over very little, not enough to manage debts or invest. It's like you or I owning the Rams. If we sell at a loss we go bust, if we don't sell then we have to make enough to pay our salaries, mortgages and pensions. Those expenses come first for GSE, the Rams second. if our turnover can only afford mediocre players then what hope for the future with reduced revenue from season ticket holders? No wonder Glick wants to get a cheap Director of Football in before legging it cos he knows they've f'ed it up and he is obviously worried for his family.
Those are my thoughts, what do you think for our future?
If the figures GSE bandy about are true, ie putting in £35m-£40m since they've been here, in addition to the remnants of parachute money, surely we/they would have been better advised to 'do a Pompey' and start anew with their "investment"..?
If they've spent upwards of £50m to get us to a point where the assets are all-but reduced to the stadium and two Championship centrebacks, then just how clever have they been..?
They don't know what they're doing.
They don't know what they're doing.
Seriously though. Going into administration would seriously p off their investors and that would make sure they never working sport again. They are between the rock and chad.
SDS - Andy Appleby will almost certainly respond if you email him. He is an amenable guy. He will be pleasant and try to allay any fears. He will respond to most, if not all of his correspondents, using a selection of a dozen or so phrases from his "listening seriously" list.
Nice chap - between a rock and a hard place - trying to serve his investors and the punters - doesn't understand soccer - doesn't understand soccer supporters - doesn't have a hope.

<sigh> I was not on about not quite made it players, (in fact, I expressly removed this class of player) but simply, never stood a chance players.
-Despite making your point somewhat redundant, I will presume any and all misunderstandings are my fault and pay you the respect of trying to explain myself further and actually show you how you have clearly misunderstood my meaning.
1=While gunners are indeed very bad at signing players to sit on their bench, this is often a host of young teens, rather than players bought with the intent to use as first term players.
2=Spurs have bought their fair share of flops, but these are players who are bought and then tried out, before being scrapped. Crouch, Russian bloke, Bentley...etc.
-I am referring to players who never even get onto the pitch.
3=Though Man U have had a few high profile flops, the word few, is key. Generally their main signings have been of high class (GK's aside) and often they sign players and then keep them on the edge of the team for few years, before letting loose in order to mould them effectively into the team. Ronaldo is a prime example of this.
=Finally, you should note my line, 'we' cannot afford this. The key difference here is that Man U and friends can afford to machine gun sign players and then leave them to rot. They do not care if they have a host of no hopers sucking dry their resources because so insanely rich. Derby on the other hand have sparse resources, which need to be used carefully and this is my point.
=It is not just how much money you have to spend, but how you spend that money. Derby have no always utilised their resources effectively.
Watching Derby Res v Pinxton, in Ben D & McGuire we had near on £1M of investment running the show yet nowhere near the first team. That's the price if having to gamble.
Any American is full of talk and empty promises, we as a club are not rotting but we are certainly not going anywhere in any kind of hurry.
Stop filling us full of empty promises Mr Glick, back the club with sensible money or just sell up and go home where you belong.

What are South Africans full of?
You're the radiology geek, wouldn't you know..?
All I know is what Shropshire folk are full of, and for a sleepy old county they aren't half imaginative about what they see fit to introduce into their bodies as they seek to while away the long winter evenings.
...bring a whole new meaning to "lightbulb moment" do they?
The most recent discovery worthy of mention was in fact a Buzz Lightyear, who sadly had lost whatever buzz he once possessed in the hours between the beginnings of his journey and his landlord seeking medical attention. Happily for Mr Lightyear, the wings were still fully extended and by all accounts he retained his look of grim determination. I am sorry to report, though, that he failed to reach infinity, far less beyond, his travels coming to a halt somewhere in the vicinity ofthe recto-sigmoid junction.
