a mid table SPL side in the future.

Even if they had not been taken to court by HMRC, they would have had to change their methods anyway, with the introduction of Financial Fair Play Rules.

I hope they survive, because I know they will be weakened for three or four years. But they'll be back. With that amount of supporters, they're never going to be a mid-table team for too long.

By then who knows, if Rangers recover then hopefully the whole Scottish game can again. The EPL will crumble and the playing field will not be even, but it will be better for our clubs. Scotland has too many clubs and I have been saying this for years.

Henk, it'll be more than 3-4 years before they pay off the ticketus money. And then they might well still be renting which would cost millions.

Unless somebody puts millions into the playing staff using his/her own wealth.....They're knackered for quite some time.

The fact the administrators have had to come in and take charge of the club is what matters. Whyte isn't in charge anymore. The process is all about recovery, and so it's normal for them to look for a new owner considering the last one hasn't been running the club properly.

Liquidation is now on the cards. Whyte has dissapeared over the horizon with his wad and the future ticket sales belong to Ticketus. This leaves not a lot of income for Rangers even with full allocation of seats being sold over next 4 years.

The club can be sold through the administrators. Its up to them who they think is best for the club.

As has been discussed elsewhere, the Ticketus scenario is anything but clear cut. Whyte cannot disappear if he is proven to have defrauded Ticketus, the Club or HMRC.

As to selling the club - a CVA can be agreed between a new owner and the existing creditors., which is what I guess Ginger was meaning.

Aye, but what about the current creditors. Will it take the big tax case going against them before the sale of Murray park and such like go ahead?

I just don't see where the money is coming from at the moment for them. Ticket sales to the punters who don't have a season ticket can't be huge.

I'd love to find out...I guess we will soon.

Ginger - almost.

Whyte is at the front of ANY queue, in CVA or liquidation. He is the ONLY secured creditor. And the debt "owed" to him forms part of the total, from which 75% has to be agreed to get a CVA.

But remember, a CVA need not only be agreed with current owner. Creditors may stipulate that CVA is only agreed with new owner.

So does HMRC become the main creditor though if the tax case goes against Rangers?

posted on 21/2/12

I mean in the sense that they are owed the most cash and then become the largest creditor....

Ahhh, get it. Cheers.

So, the worrying thing is if ticketus own the season tickets for the next four years....Then the level in which they'd be able to pay back HMRC over said four years is reduced?
