His value has gone down a lot and if Chelsea are going to sell him they are not going to get more than 18-20m for him.

Chelsea probably just want to get rid and if Torres wants to get his career back on track he should be willing to accept a 'small' salary of about 100-120k a week

I think Chelsea will definitely accept 20 million. But will he score regularly again? His confidence is nowhere and we can't afford any more passengers.

Because of FFP transfer fees are not an issue. Wages are.

That means Torres can only go to Barca or Madrid. Only these two clubs generate the kind of turnover needed to finance Galacticos.

Thats why Torres is a millstone on Chelsea. Chelsea will have to pay off his contract. And even the most stupid club is not going to do that. Man City haven't released Adebayor!

If Chelsea keep AVB, Torres will go out to loan away from this country. Probably to Atletico for Falcao.

Falcao is having a very good first season especially since Simeone took over so I don't think that's an option for Torres anymore. Maybe one of the Italian clubs?

Imagine the deal.

Torres on loan at Atletico with Chelsea paying 75% of his salary and an offer of £50m for Falcao. The prodigal son returns with most of his wages being paid by someone else for the rest of his contract? They will do it in a heartbeat.

Atletico like most clubs outside of Barca and Madrid don't have huge amounts to spend. Especially because of the new tax rules in Spain. Atletico made a mistake with Falcao. The transfer fee was too high for them. For that kind of impact they needed him to win the golden boot by 5/6 goals. Not to be 14 goals behind C.Ronaldo and Messi.

Interesting point, could be a win win situation for Athletico.

I would spend it on some hitmen to take out Alan Hansen and Garth Crooks

^If you find the right people they would probably be willing to do it for free.

For 10mn more, I'll get someone to sew Big Sam's lips together so I don't have to see the gum in his mouth while he's chewing with his mouth open wide

No. Koscielny, Mertesacker and Vermaelen are very good defenders.

Andre Ayew has a release clause of just over £11million. Would be a good signing and is versatile.

Agreed. He's a talented player, wouldn't mind him at Arsenal.

Don't need any more defenders. Just need to promote Bartley ahead of Squillaci/Djourou. He clearly has the talent and the right attitude.

I dare anyone to say that Squillaci/Djourou would cope in the SPL and especially playing for rangers like Bartley has done.

Our defence next season:

Right backs:

1) Sagna
2) Jenkinson

Centre backs:

1)Kos
2)Mertesacker
3)Vermaelan
4)Bartley
5)Miquel
6)Djourou

Left backs:

1) Santos
2) Gibbs.

Good enough for me.

Verminator, Bartley can also cover at Right Back as well pretty competently.
