They have no history.
When Whytey sold the Arsenal shares he pawned the silverware at the same time.

There have been posts on here about this all week. They are clinging to this like some sort if comfort pillow. We didn't go into liquidation, there was no break in our history. We won the big one, deal with it.

Have to say I have heard this loads today and to be honest is a desperate attempt that if Rangers start again then they keep the trophy record

Like forever says it dies with the club

Will it be the same club? no. Will it be the same team, yes.

The Celtic name change & the Rangers name change (if it happens are exactly the same, so far as Companies House are concerned.

The reasons behind the change would of course be different - Rangers through insolvency, Celtic to enable raising of capital (so not THAT different - both financial reasons).

Bu the same team, playing in the same league, with the same colours & crest, and the same name (I don't see Celtic PLC at the top of any league), would be the same team as founded in 1872.

Just as the current Celtic team is the same team founded in 1888.

The ONLY way it would be different is if another's teams league membership was used by Rangers NewCo - as Airdrie did.

Of course then, it would be a completely different scenario, and a completely new team.

Forever,

They just cant seem to grasp your second point.
Some of their absolute stupidity has really surprised me today.

The thing I found absolutely risable was that none of the commentators actually took up this point. Surely they are not daft enough to try to support this point of view.

Doesnt really matter. Even if we go down the NewCo route, we still keep your history. Uefa have set a precedent for this.

seen your post about this on the gers board, im not convinced, if you are able to forfit your history of debt like Fiorentina done then surely you forfit the rest of your history aswell you are a new organisation it should work both ways

Eh..wasn't the daft mare also missing another point. Haven't Rangers themselves been a plc and de-listed and changed their status several times already...no 54 titles anyway by her logic. They are dangerous when they get that desperate

Dunno, till I seen uefa's stance on it I would probably have agreed with you.

That team was totally gone though! A year went by when they didnt even play!

Uefa still handed them back all theri historical achievements when they were NewCo'd though.

To be honest, Im not even that bothered if we lose the history. Better than nothing! Least we will have a cleaner record than you lot when it comes to disciplinary situations!
