I'm 100% behind Colin and have said I would cool my bates bashing because he got us Warnock. BUT I'm still anti-Bates until he proves that he's doing his best for the club and not just himself. That means doing what he promised and getting us the hell up into the prem afterall we're nearly 8-years under his stewardship

As for being able to stay in the prem, I've said before that it doesn't matter if we come straight back down because we'd probably be stronger going straight back up because of the huge parachute payments. ulti millions for being in the prem, followed by multi millions for going down is worth more than being 15th and staying up. So we go back up as a stronger team and more financialy secure club. Baggies have the perfect business model

Your economics theory is slightly out as you get paid per league position so finishing near the bottom of the prem nets you less than you get when relegated because of the parachute payments.

I will agree with a lot of what you said, because i said the same last season (january) when I said we needed to invest a in a couple of quality players to ensure promotion because the teams coming down would all be chellenging this season, plus saints and Brighton. All true so far and liecester and Hull will also be around.

Teams due for coming down won't be as strong as this seasons, but Ipswich and Leicester will be fired up and it will be tough going for us

Chorley ...... i deliberately didn't mention KB as the thread was more about Colin I thought? Any support or hint of it towards KB is instantly shot down by some.

My personal opinion of KB fluctuates depending on what mood i'm in at the time. Sometimes i reckon he's a blood sucking parasite, others i think he runs a tight ship (too tight maybe?!?!).

I'm a fence sitter and proud. I just want to go to ER follow my team and hope we achieve something.

No, the players will know there is no ambition under Bates.

As for Villa under MON, they just posted £53m debts after £25m injected by owner. Overstretched, and MON walked cos he could not squeeze more out of the board. Not impressive. That's what happens when you try to reach for the stars.
....
So you blame mon?

They sold a player he did not want to sell and then would not give him the money to spend.

Yet

The silly cubbts went and spent 18m just 6 month after he left!!!!

All that hard work down the pan. Look at them now!!!!

You go over the top, LIW.

Grayson was paying fees for garbage and making them first choice.

The transfer window is closed, Webber is a player Warnock knows, and he gives us a different option.

And you'd trust Warnock to be able to get the best out of someone.

Being without a club for a while doesn't mean someone isn't good enough, in the current climate.

Look at Stephen Carr at Birmingham.

Who's he going get better then Webber now?

There is no players out there.

It's just to fresh it up and maybe see what he's like for next season.

Being disgusted by it is ridiculous.

It's a short-term free transfer when the window is shut!

It's like when people bang on about Assoumani as if Macca signed him as the cornerstone of his defence.

Why do people think NW is a good reason for players to renew or join? I see Mills doesn't want to play for Colin. Why would that be?
