Na, the five wee daft ones would look really stupid.
You know, I quite believe the people at your club charged with making those kind of decisions would actually stoop to that level of pettiness
I mean when Rangers did it immediately after winning 50 titles, a big star appeared on the Celtic top the following season for the first time as if it was a decision made totally out of the blue like 36 years or something after the actual event, had nothing to do with Rangers doing something similar to celebrate their achievements like ye know
Your right Stevie. But how petty must the phannies at Rangers have been to stick five stars on their top for winning 50 leagues in a mince league system.
Rats pure magic by ra way... git the five stars oan that tap man!

ManU put a star on their shirt, 30 years after they won it
Liverpool...
You copied other teams, why couldn't we? Asterisks is what you have and even one of those may be recalled
Btw, why did Rangers wait till 50 to put stars on their shirts? Nothing to do with Seville I'd hope

"can you honestly say that 10 Scottish titles is the equivalent of one European cup? Perhaps ten titles in a row would be worthy of a star, but 10 titles, I dunno..."
See, this is the kind of attitude only a petty fan like yourself has.
Lets talk about Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich wear four stars on their jerseys
Bayern have won the European Cup 4 times
Do those stars represent four European cup wins??
Answer - NO
Seeing as you dont believe wikipedia, this is quoted directly from the Bundesliga website, and here's the link (under the marketing section):
http://www.bundesliga.de/en/dfl/fragen/index.php#
"What do the stars on some clubs shirts mean?
Since the official Bundesliga season 2004/2005 the clubs are officially allowed to wear title symbols over their club crest. The star is a symbol for the league titles won since 1963. The regulation is as follows:
At least 3 league titles won = 1 star
At least 5 league titles won = 2 stars
At least 10 league titles won = 3 stars
At least 20 league titles won = 4 stars"
So the 4 stars on Bayern's shirt represent 20 league title wins, not 4 european cup wins, they do not wear any stars to represent European Cup wins.
Still don't believe me??
Bayern won their fourth European Cup in 2001
Here is the Bayern home top from 05/06 season, 4 years after this 4th European triumph.

How many stars do you see on there?
I see three
Why only three, because Bayern had only won 18 Bundesliga titles from 1963 onwards up to that point.
It wasnt until 2008 that Bayern had won their 20th league title since 1963, and you can check Bayern's official site for this if you want

Here is the Bayern top from the 09/10 season, the 1st top released after the 20th league triumph in 2008 (the previous strip ran from 2007 - 2009).

How many stars are there?
Four
Why? Because Bayern had won 20 Bundesliga titles by now.
-------------------------
So, to answer your question.
In terms of a club wearing stars on their jersey
"can you honestly say that 10 Scottish titles is the equivalent of one European cup?"
If a club as big a Bayern Munich, that has won the European Cup 4 times, DOESNT wear stars to represent European Cup wins, and instead wears 4 stars to represnt 20 domestic league wins....AND....considering many of the big clubs around Europe than have won the European cup also do the same...I'd say a star on a club's jersey is more common and more widely recognised to signify league title wins than one single trophy.
Also, the fact that Rangers wears one more star that Bayern, to represent 50 league wins, more twice as many as Bayern have won, I'd say its fair cop.
So maybe Celtic would be better wearing four stars instead of just the one, but I suppose, you bhoys would have a problem with that wouldnt you, seeing as Rangers have five already

Move on, Stevie
TCD...good points...especially the Seville one. Italian teams have put one star on their shirts for every ten league titles since at least the 1960's.

Rangers were the first club to win 50 domestic league titles in the world...they didnt copy anyone else in that acheivement and did something immeadiately after the feat to celebrate it, sod all to do with Seville sir
Doing something on the 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th anniversary of these kind of things to commemorate them...all understandable.
Never heard of the 36th anniversary being a massive event before but there you go

How many did you cheat to win?!
Will you be removing the fifth star when your club gets dragged out into the open as a club full of cheats, liars and tax dodgers?
We copied the kind of system used in leagues all around europe to celebrate domestic league title wins, and chose to do that to commemorate an event that no other club had achieved....its pretty simple
Here's my wee wiki page again that you dont believe

If Rangers were a national side and not a club team and Brazil atually played in a league every season I'd maybe see why you even brought them up

Let's face it, yeez are devoid of originality.Yer no even the first tae con the taxman
"Why wait till 50?"
Because no system was in place in scotland, it wasnt really common practice in other leagues at the time we won our 40th title which was back in 1990, and we were the first club to win 50 EVER, so decided to do something, its hardly rocket science chaps
What we didnt do was something totally out of the blue out of pettyness 36 years after an event
What system...ye just stuck them onRight after Brasil had

Wearing the star has also been adopted by various teams of other sports."

it's irrelevant when the star was put on the jersey, what is important is what the star represents. Winning the European cup is much harder than winning ten Scottish league titles, hence why only one Scottish team has achieved that feat and another has run themselves into the ground trying to match that achievement.
You're like lassies, but easier to pump.
