The guy that refused to represent his own country because he didn't like his manager?

Exactly JFDI.

That goes to show Keane doesn't stand for nonsense. Therefore all the plotters that undermined AVB would be shipped out.

Even if they are capable of working perfectly well for other managers?

Besides the point is Keane is himself a proven Prima Donna, he wouldn't last 5 minutes.

Keane a Prima-Donna?

He might be many things, but that's the last thing he was.

Then by that token, Chelsea have none, at least none of our players have refused to turn out in their shirts.

Says a lot about them

For a start he is a proven poor manager.

Or the manager they couldn't work for.

I think you’ll find Keane walked out on Ireland because he wasn’t happy with the set up. He didn’t feel it was professional enough.

Deepspace - does that refer to the bit between your ears?

Not a professional thing to do though is it? Abandon your team, walk out on your country rather than try and affect change and work with others to make the most of it? Something our players are being criticised for now? A fine example

Keane never refused to play for Manchester United.

if you're talking about International duty, Chelsea players (and many others) are half-hearted at best. Skipping friendlies and putting in poor performances in the finals.

They're prima-donnas. Keane was honest enough to walk away from a manager he didn't want to play for, rather than turn up and drift along.

This is on the list of worse nightmares

He abandoned his team mates and country he is a prima donna however you want to dress it up otherwise.

he didn't abandon them. He couldn't work under the coach, there's nothing 'dressed up' about that. That's life, some people you can't work with.

If Chelseas players players didn't like AVB, why weren't they honest about it rather than employing underhand methods to destabalise his position?

good players with big mouths dont necessary make good managers.

Keane is a prime example

I have a feeling it will be Louis van Gaal.Abramovich has tried lots of different managers from experience hiddink to young villa boas Mourinho will not come, after all he has a great side like pep guardiola. You have to be mad to leave them sides.

Really?

Hasn't exactly achieved much in recent times.

He walked out, refused to turn out, left.

If that isn't abandoning his country and team mates I do not know what is.

If you think that is acceptable then I question your judgement.

Are you saying the those that stayed and made the most of the bad management, poor conditions, etc were the real prima donnas because they stayed and tried to make the most of it unlike Keane?

If what Keane did was so right becuse the conditions were as he described why didn't more walk?

People leave good jobs all the time.

More money, a new challange, fresh start, hating your current job/colleagues are all common reasons

I don't know, maybe they were happy with a set-up that didn't get the best out of the squad. Maybe they were content just to make an appearance at the World Cup.

Keane was used to a totally professioanl set-up at Manchester United. He played to win, not just to 'turn-up.'

That's what he believed in, and it's not a prima-donna character. Towards the end of his career he publicly criticised United players he felt were becoming prima-donnas.

So the majority of the sqaud happy 1 disgruntled, pick the prima donna.

I'm not calling any of them prima-donnas. The world isn't split into prima-donnas and non prima-donnas

I agree there were factors in Keanes personality that caused him to leave. But in no way was it a case of him being a prima-donna.

If there's ever been a person who doesn't stand for prima donnas, its Roy Keane.

-------------------------------------------------

Bit selective when it comes to judging Pria Donnas aren't you?
