Chronic,

If Lennon was 40 mins away from pulling his hammy, it doesnt matter if he did it against Stevenage or against Everton.

And to be honest, he was just coming back anyway so needed game time to get back to speed - and who better to play against than a lower league side.

You just cant prevent these types of injuries - they are part & parcel of the game.

Yes it would have been nice to put this one to bed 1st time around, but if you look on the bright side, we could have been out the cup altogther.

We win 3-1, we're into the quarters & we're still being negative about team selection. Harry cant win.

chicken. if you re read my article you will find that my issue is playing him so close together when he is on the comeback trail.

clearly playing sunday - saturday is very different to playing sunday - wednesday for a player who has just come back from a problem.

i did some work experience as a physio and lesson 1 for me was when someone has just recovered from an injury, do not put unecessary stress on the injury shortly after recovery.

sorry chicken but i think the lennon getting injured last night was down to the abusurd decision to play him.

give the kid a chance to get back fit ffs.

Chronic,

I refuse to believe that HR would play Lennon if his hammy hadn't repaired & was fit. Thats the problem with players like Lennon, Owen etc. Their game is based on short spurts of pace, which always going to damage the hammy.

I have no qualification in the physio dept, so i respect your opinion on it, but i think we just have to accept that he will play 5 games, then miss 5 games.

Back on point of the article I do not think you are being unfair at all. Your points are bang on.
It was Stevenage, Gio should've played.

We played sheet in the first game and had to have an extra game with an away match at Everton up next. We played rubbish and that did our now fragile confidence no good.
And yes it was totally inevitable we would pick up injuries and to play Lennon on a cold night with him just returning from a hamstring was just stupidity.

Harrys comments afterwards lend more credence to the belief that there are problems between them. He will leave for Liverpool in the summer I believe.

The only amazing thing from last night was that VDV didnt get injured.

chicken

i have no physio qualification - all i have is a weeks work experience when i was shown the very very basics.

your first paragraph more or less explains why a player such as lennon should not be given a heavy workload when he just comes back from an injury. yetstill he was done. we needlessly ran the risk and it backfired.

Roman, is it a monthly shop or a weekly shop

No way will we sell Lennon in the summer, he is going to be offered a new contract with a 10% pay increase, and if you believe Harry will be leaving anyway, then why would we sell Lennon, he is one of the few game changers we have and we would not be able to afford a better replacement for him

If Harry stays I think he will sell Lennon. But I don't think Harry will stay so moot point!

surely Levy would block it?

he is one of our most important attacking assets

1 Team

I would put my own pay cheque on us NOT selling Lennon, he is a first teamer when fit, and you know what, Harry needs to get passed the problems he has with him because its effecting our form

Certainly would not sell him to Liverpool!

I think the issues between Harry and Lennon have been hinted at before. It is well known that Lennon took ages to settle down south and his fondness for returning up north on every day off, has never sat easily with Harry. Furthermore, he (allegedly) shares the same liking of nighgtclubs as our Ledley, and again, Harry doesn't approve.

But, this is about whether he should have been out there last night, and as far as I can see, Chicken's assessment of the situation, is pretty much spot on.

We can now accomodate VDV and Defoe in the same

-------------------------------------------------

Totally agree, that partnership has not been tried out enough in my opinion, but we also cant drop Ade as he is the focal point, its a tough one

fair enough. i understand your and Chicken's viewpoint, I just happen to think playing him was unecessary given the strength of the side we decided to put out.

Also regarding Lennon and Harry not seeing eye to eye. Does Harry have a leg to stand on when I believe that he lives on the south coast ... i.e. nowhere near the area, and travels back and forth daily....

thus i am sure he can see where Lennon is coming from with regard to not liking being away from home...

Chronic- We had the same sitaution a couple of seasons ago when Kranjcar refused to relocate from the south coast and was ditched until he did so.

Rightly or wrongly, Harry's motto is "do as I say, not what I do"
