Fantastic result - and performance too!!! Delighted for the Lads - let's hope we can continue this form - we may just pull off our second Great Escape in the Championship!!!
Congrats to donny though, i dont mean any offence but we are a shambles
Tomkins, what can Sam do when we had a chance to bury the game in the first half itself.. worrying thing is Reading won the game.
No offence taken Tomkins - good luck in your run in
We need to be ruthless, always going 1-0 up and letting teams come at us. The Arrogant <surfers>
everyone at the club
9th draw of the season, looks ain't good for the promotion.
I was busy doing jobs outside at home and kept having a sneaky look at the computer to see how we were going on.
Somehow it was easier to take than listening to the match commentary, especially as it was a tight game and we were always in it at 1-0.
It seems as though Copps had another good game and Diouf was always prominent in their half.
The defence seems to be a lot harder to break down these days so at last we are making good progress.
If Bristol lose their game tonight it leaves us with an opportunity to improve our position if we can keep on playing like this.
With the game today and the next two putting us against the top three in consecutive matches i thought that any points gained would be a bonus, so one in the bag already.
If we could sneak a win on Tuesday against Reading that would be fantastic.

Please do it..
It means as much to us as it does to you mate.
I got ahead of myself with the upcoming games, i thought we played Saints next saturday but its Direby.
Just got back, had a nice meal and nearly two bottles of wine. I was very proud of the the team and our performance today. In the first 20 it was one way traffic and it looked like a trashing was coming. Things looked good in the next 25 leaving me thinking that we could get a result. The second half left me spell bound. How they scrapped a draw I don't know.
Diouf was very impressive, I was a doubter but not now.
Gillett for me our best man. Beye and Chimbonda were excellent as was the rest of the team. Bennett was like a little boy been bullied by the big boys. He has to do better to hold his place.
Well done Dean I never ever thought I would see the day that Donny played at West Ham and the were lucky to get a draw.
Deano got the team playing like West Ham used to do. The sad thing is we should have thrashed them in the second half.
Great performance- We can and we will survive.
Back to the wine.
One thing I forgot to say was how good the vocal support was for the team today. I don't know how it came across on RP but my ears were ringing when I came out of the ground. Where there any Hammers supporters there, if so, I never heard them.
Alex, thanks for the match report. Allardyce seemed to be blaming officials' decisions and the fact that we got lucky with the goal. Deano suggested that we should have won the game. At least Deano had the good grace to say that West Ham were much the better side in the first 15 minutes and that they are a very good side. I actually rate Allardyce as a manager but why is it that managers of "bigger" teams can't actually just admit that Donny Rovers played well and deserved a draw or more? What was your view Alex - should we have won?
Some of the West Ham fans are giving us a bit of praise instead of just ranting. I found this on one of their forums.
"Only football played today was from Doncaster. We did more hoofing this game than any other this season. Our passing and control was non-excistant.
Taylor hardly got forward at all once Nolan went off and Allerdyce was urging him and the other players to drop back.
Nolan looked like the only player trying to get forward and create, he was the only one getting in thier penalty area and trying to make something happen.
Allerdyce made the change he did because he wanted to settle for a draw.
Doncaster outplayed us. Green saved us."

So they are not all totally biased like their manager.
Well done donny. Hope you stay up, didnt see the game but sounded fairly even.
No disrespect but you can understand we are frustrated not to have beaten you. I am really angry but all credit and worth your point by the sound of it
Thanks Tomkins. Yes, we can understand that you would expect to beat us but after a terrible start to the season, we have started to perform over the past couple of months. We are no push-overs at the moment, drew with Cardiff in a game we deserved to win and beat Southampton. I still expect you to get promoted though and hopefully we can help you out when we play Reading on Tuesday! Good luck for the rest of the season.I hope you manage to get back to the PL!!
I was seriously worried in the first ten minutes; WHU were utterly dominant, but after only scoring 1 out of a possible 3 in that time the West Ham foot went off the gas and they let us in. Chimbonda looked very slow again but somehow managed to get in front of ?Vaz Te in the first 10 seconds and give the ref (D'Urso of Essex!!! and Play Off Final fame) the impression that there was evidence of a foul to get the goal disallowed.
What a relief that was.
After that we slowly worked our way back into the game, but for the most part it was only Diouf of the front men who was making any headway. Bagayoko just could not get on to the ball and frustratingly Coppinger was continuously running into good positions and then totally ignored by his team mates, particularly by Bennet. How I yearned for Jimmy O'Connor to be on hand.
In the second half West Ham continued to concentrate on trying unsuccessfully to force the ball up the middle and Rovers seemed to be largely in control. When I saw Diouf at Bristol he seemed slow and unproductive; today he masterminded the play and usually gained a foul when he did lose the ball and you had to acknowledge that he was the most efffective player on the pitch. He and Coppinger had an excellent understanding in the second half frequently exchaning passes via fancy back-flicks.
In the end EHD's late effort which Green got his fingers to to claw around the post would have been a worthy winner, but then if we (Bagayoko rather than Barnes I thought) had not missed the free header early in the second half the Coppinger goal would have been the winner.
I must confess that I doubted their spirit and questioned their joint commitment before this, but I came away feeling really good about our prospects of avoiding the drop.
We must utilise the talent of Copps more though. Bennet is good, but needs to be more aware of how to combine with others rather than trying to progress entirely on his own.
And Gillett is such a tireless team player. With 10 more like him we'd have no problems. How about giving Brown a go up front?
Finally, the Rovers support, which from my position deep in enemy territory rung round the ground at twice the volume of anything the home support were offering. "The few" totally outsung the natives and were rewarded by our outstanding performer. After the game El Hadji waited till the rest of the team had expressed their thanks before theatrically presenting himself, his shirt and the armband to the faithful, most of whom (amazingly) still had voices left to "Ooooooh" him.
Wonderful.
Crazy,
You have to remember I may be a little bias but there is no doubt we deserved to win. I have just been listening to the BBC report and we were at different games. We played the old West Ham type of football after the first 20mins, on the ground, where as WH hoofed the ball in to the box, that's Sam's way. West Ham supporters are used to a better standard of football and if they fail to get promotion Sam will be on his bike.
AlexmyH your review of the match was spot on,Bennet just gives the ball away to often, shame about sick note Shelton,Thinking after the game I gave MOM to Chimbonda, just. Oh well done 26
Lanzo,
I found it very interesting to compare Bennett and Diouf. Bennett was very light weight and easily knocked off the ball but Diouf it took two players to knock him off it and at times he still came away with the ball. I don't know if you noticed but there were times in the 2nd half when we only had 3 in the back line when Tommy made forward runs and young Bennett dropped back. Now that shows how committed to attack we were . It was the same with Chimboda's runs. I was proud of the team yesterday.
I also had good fortune with getting parked in Gillett Ave, strange but true. Man of the match for me. I asked a lady where was a good place to park and she reached in her bag and gave me a visitors card for free parking now tha'ts great East end hospitality.
It was a great day.
Good to hear we put in a performance. The second half certainly sounded like it.
Just keep it going lads!
We had a brilliant day yesterday, on train to London by 8am, drinks in Covent Garden by 10.15am, on to Leicester Square for lunch and more drinks. Got to Upton Park by 2.30pm (which was a good job as they seem to have sold more tickets than they had allocated seats for) Stewards were struggling to cope with the fact some people had to stand through lack of seats meaning the rest of us had to stand to see but they were decent stewards on the whole. Took a while to get out of the ground and a long queue for the tube but got back to Kings Cross so had a few drinks around there before the 8pm train home. Best away day I've had for a while
The game - thought we were going to get absolutely mullered first 20 mins, they should have been 3-0 up Diouf, Copps, Beye, Gillett, Spurr and Ikeme were tremendous. For me the jury's still out on Chimbonda, yesterday was the best I'd seen him play. I like Bennett, he's got pace and trickery but gets knocked off the ball way too easily or manages to lose it himself.
I'm not sure this mini-turnaround is all Saunders' doing. I'd say Diouf takes a lot of control of what happens on the pitch but its working. There's no doubting his skill and his passion and the less tasteful elements of his personality were much less obvious yesterday. When he walked over to give his shirt to a fan yesterday you could see that he cares about us staying up so fair play to him
All in all a brilliant day, had to feel sorry for a couple of Newcastle fans who had booked the train for the Arsenal match before it was changed for Sky. They still came down for a day drinking round London and were going to to go to the West Ham game but found out Gateshead were playing locally so went there instead
Rovers have the talent and determination to stay up - my only fear is that we've left it too late but I really hope thats an unfounded fear
