"had the players not been trying to avoid paying the same levels as tax as you and I do"
--------------------------------------------
Not many, if any of the present squad would have been involved.
And countless individuals and companies look to reduce their tax liabilities.
Steve Davis house up for sale-well put a bid in and chuck that carboard hoose too fook.
Timmy, you said
Legends?
Mare like cheats!
Therefore, yes, you were talking about the players. Wanna diouble check your post before you back track anymore?
when hmrc decide how much is owed they will then put an arangment in place with rangers to pay it back over a number of years
£1m or £2m a year is a realistic,maybe a lump sum at the start
when they say you owe 50 million they don't actually demand it all there and then
whyte said he tried to do a deal with them along those lines but hmrc wouldn't deal with him, they will deal with new owners
there will be no demand for 50 million at any time no matter what happens

And countless individuals and companies look to reduce their tax liabilities.
Of course they do. But most of us (including you) will look to do it legally. these payment are what you and I would recognise as 'cash in hand' or 'cash in the back pocket'. You know, No Income Tax, No VAT..... Just like DelBoy would do.

And Rangers looked to do it legally, of course. The tribunal may rule differently. But that remains to be seen.
Dos
As naismith has said most of the top earners at your club are fans. Mcgregor, naismith, Davis. Bit unfair to single out one of our foreign players who hasn't grew up supporting Celtic. Would jelavic have took the cut? No he was out of there as soon as the window opened. I'm sure the Celtic boys would do the same, but the difference is we actually have competent men running our club so I guess we will never find out.

Secondly, had the players not been trying to avoid paying the same levels as tax as you and I do, then the club wouldn't be in this position in the first place!

the club is not in administration because of players not paying tax,it's because craig whyte took the money from the staff at rangers and didn't hand it over
the big tax case is from 2001-2010 with the vast majority of hmrc's claim coming from the years between 2002-2007 so nothing to do with the current players
rangers owe 9 million due to craig whyte,4 or 5 million from the wee tax case that has been proved
that's why we are in administration not particularly because of the big tax case
that ovcourse has still to be proved after years in the courts
Polloks, seriously?
Are hmrc trying to get the money from Craig Whyte? No the case is against rangers football club. They want there money, they rushed through the court case because of the 9 million unpaid this year alone. Let's.just wait and see but you guys are going to be financially crippled for years to come.
Naismith-Injured, so if sacked, would have had no wages until he recovered from injury.Ditto Lafferty and Whittaker.
And any other players would have had to find a club before March 31st...
So all they've done is guarantee themselves a wage, rather than being dumped.
Why did it take them so long???
The binman is the only standout here...offered to play for nothing
Seems the players are damned if they do, damned if they don't according to some bhoys
Naw your players are just damned playing for dodo fc
LMC He is the sole cause of the non-payment. With him removed, who's to say HMRC won't change tack and offer to do a deal.
if you genuinely believe hmrc can demand 50 million pounds then that's fine, dosen't mean that will happen,it won't
do you demand this pretend 50 million(nobody has £50million to give them no matter what they say or demand)
the only way hmrc will get their money is by aranging a plan to pay it back over a number of years,or liquidation and selling assets(which they won't do for many reasons)
it's common sense

DC - was the big tax case not being pursued before Craig Whyte was dusting down his suit to come to ibrox?

HMRC dosen't give a monkey's fek where the cash comes from
Get real.
Dos, we will never know as I say you have more fans in your team than we have in ours and that obviously has an impact. They will be off in the summer I would imagine. Funds have to be raised.

Yep. What caused us to go into admin? Craig Whyte's non-payment,not the big tax case.
The taxman wants his money, they want to set an example, they don't give a damm if rangers go into liquidation or not. Only the club will be to blame if that happens.
