if craig whyte took the money that was supposed to go to the tax man surely he should be in the jail

if employees paid the money and he used it for something else you can't ask the staff to pay again surely?

i assume there will be an investigation into that

i don't understand how that could happen but who does with this stuff

nobody knows what will happen, what i do know is that hmrc won't demand a huge amount of money as some celtic fans seem to have told themselves

The cash is comin from Rangers mex, obviously, might not be Whyte payin it tho,and they may well offer a better payment plan to somebody they hold with a higher regard

Whyte is partly to blame DC, but the big tax case is going to decide where your clubs future lies. David Murray has ran your club into the ground, with his parting gift being selling it on to Craig Whyte. I think admin was always coming, how bad must cash flow have been for Whyte to keep paye contributions to ensure the club stayed afloat, or line his pockets perhaps..

IE - not at all. I just think that your club will have no other option than to sell their top players to generate funds, then play the youngsters who will be on buttons. Then they might get a rise up to a mars bar

Whyte was banking on this money. No wonder mccoist says he doesn't walk away. Who would have him? But the bears are happy with him. Out of every competion before the clocks go forward, please don't walk away ally.

why didn't they issue the winding up order then

hmrc care very much if rangers go into liquidation, they want a strong rangers to continue so they can get million and millions and millions in tax every year, they also don't want to be the big wolf in london who kills one of thw most important things in scotland just before the referendum

i wouldn't underestimate that part of it

Noo that's, irony

HMRC want Ranger to survivie because they want their cash. They won't put you out of business but they will want every penny owed. You may have a chance to have the interest payments reduced, but thats it.

Lmc - didn't Lenny cost his club 20m last season?

Pot, kettle black

If Whyte is struck off as not owning Rangers, that would make HMRC the secured creditor. Why would they then accept a CVA?

More folly to follow me thinks

Next he'll be claiming he woke up Irish this morning, and start looking for dead pensioners in his wake.

Oh dear. Fair point about lennon but we can survive without the cash we lost through that.

Polloks, hmrc don't care about rangers the institution, the impact on Scotland or referendums. They just want their money back. Simple.

No doomsday predictions from me, just giving my point of view. I think most people can see that your club are in grave financial trouble.

Mex - so Celtic play in Europe for free?

Lmc- I wasn't talking about whether Celtic could survive without the money. I was pointing out that by your reckoning , Lenny is a useless manager. I tend to disagree

No, but it shows it doesn't mean he is a rubbish manager as Lmc suggested

+++++

Why? He took over a team that had won 3 titles in a row and got pumped by Malmo and Maribor...then by Falkirk youths.

He blew a 15 point lead almost halfway through the season, in the space of 2 months.

Where's this parallel you are drawing?

Lennon missed out in the league on the last day of the season, won the Scottish cup and has built a solid young team. He is going for three trophies this season and will be manager of the year. Mccoist has you out of all competitions, his team collapsed when you lost one player to injury, he continually plays players in wrong positions and looks clueless on the touchline at times. But if your happy with that fair play to you.
