I remember a few years ago interviews bradcast with both David Murray and Fergus McCann when they were trying to get more of the pot for themselves. Their argument was "Why should we carry the rest of the clubs". They got their way. I think the old firm now get 20% each. That leaves leaves 60% to be divided amongst the other 10 team.
The old firm have, over the years bought many a player from rivals and these players have spent most of their time in the reserves. Great move. Weaken the opposition.
You wonder why there is little competition.
