I like seeing new faces in the league. Be like when Blackpool came up.

Also Fabinho should change to number 6 and either the new CB or Gomez change to number 3.

Thiago will get number 6.

Has there been any new news on that?

It's a nice idea but highly doubt we will sign Thiago to be honest. Too many reasons for it not to happen.

I think we’ll spend for the right player. Another year of CL money, winning the PL and not really spending this season must surely mean we have something the coffers. It all depends how much Covid has affected the finances and how secure future investment is looking

I can only see it if we opt to sell Gini should he not sign a new contract

I don’t believe it either.

I just read a reliable source on the United front that said they have a transfer budget of £150m this summer.

That’s after they have spent £200m on Fernandes, James, Maguire and AWB in the last year.

That’s despite them not being in the CL at all last season.

Meanwhile we spend nothing last summer, qualifying for the CL every season (reaching two finals), win the Premier league, super cup, world club cup.

The club are feeding the likes of Pearce, Reddy etc with the crap that our match day revenue has gone with no fans. Well you can guarantee Uniteds would be considerably than ours and they can afford a budget of that size. Plus match day revenue is only a tiny slice of the overall club revenue these days.

As for those saying United earn more than us, I read a report recently that said we are close to overtaking them
in the Forbes money league.

The biggest indicator will be how much other PL clubs spend on transfers this summer. If we are truly suffering, every other club have to be as well.

Perhaps the United comparisons might be skewed by the size of their sponsorship deals and global appeal.

If however, the likes of Spurs, Everton, Arsenal etc are able to magically spend big money with no European football we will know for certain it’s a load of crap.

Are you honestly still on your owner bashing when they've just given us the title for the first time in 30 years a season after giving us our 6th CL?

Incredible

We pay out absplutely huge bonuses to players. Think we actually paid out more than the CL prize money laat year. Obviously we make that back in other ways.

Anyway I'm not so sure we're as cash rich as people are saying but I do have a feeling we will get Thiago. With some experienced heads leaving I think Klopp may ask the board to break the mould a bit with him.

True Robbing. To be fair, I’m sure we’ve had to pay out massive bonuses for winning the CL and the league. We’ve handed out big contracts as well.

On the flip side, prize money would have been huge and would have also offset that somewhat. We also recouped £30m on transfer fees last summer.

Perhaps I need to put my accountant brain away for one day but it just doesn’t add up to me.

The best indicator will be the spending of other clubs, so we will see.

I think we'll look to get value and that may mean waiting a bit. I think Thiago would be an excellent addition especially if Wij leaves (and I think he will).

I've a lot faith in Jones too. We'll see I guess.

Would love Thiago but he’s 29, would cost a fair bit and we are well stocked in midfield. Just don’t see it.

Although this Gini new contract situation is worryingly dragging on so wouldn’t rule it out completely. Perhaps Klopp wants to play Fabinho at centre back more from next season as well. Who knows.

Anfield Online did an article on exactly that situation. That there are not many CB's on the market worth buying that are better than Fabinhos skill set and how we don't have anyone of Thiago's at 6. He'd add a different way of playing completely just by being himself if that makes sense.

I think Gini would be a good signing for pretty much anyone but if one of our midfielders were to leave I'd rather it was him.

I’d prefer Gini stays personally as I think he’s massively important for us.

Likewise I’d be sceptical about moving Fabinho out of his best position but it’s an option.

Balance between sticking to a winning formula but also freshening things up over time. Klopp’s shown he’s adjusted our system over a number of years so teams don’t find a formula to beat us regularly which makes sense.
