Khamzat is looking like a hype job. If he doesn't take his man out early he does struggle and I can see him last a 5 rounder. He will though beat Strikland but someone like Izzy would find a way to outlast him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Adesanya would beat him over 5.

I would also add Whittaker to that list.

Strickland had good take down defence and his distance control is second to none. He also loves a good scrap, I think you'll be surprised.

I don't think Khamzat is a hype job, he just beat Usman 3-0 in rounds, he's legit. He isn't going to run through the middleweight division though, and I'm not sure if he's championship material yet.

Depends if it goes 5 I guess.

Yeah that's what I think it is. In 3 rounds he might beat them all but in 5 he has never been tested and he does put a lot in the first round. He's not losing as much weight so that should help him.

He beat a Usman that had 10 days to prepare. I think Khamzat could very easily have lost a 3 round fight against Usman.

I think Khamzat is overhyped. That doesn't mean he isn't a good fighter but he clearly isn't this goliath that everyone was painting him as. That aura of fear has gone now too. I think all the top middleweights will be looking at Khamzat and thinking he's quite beatable.

Adesanya has terrific takedown defence, so I could see him surviving the first round against Khamzat and then taking over with his volume of strikes.

posted on 23/10/23

I believe Khamzat should have stayed at 170lbs, where he holds a size advantage. Unfortunately, he isn't able to remain disciplined between camps and he puts on too much weight to make 170lbs.

Usman looked pretty good standing up in the last round tbh, Burns also gave Khamzat a torrid time.

I think Khamzat has decent striking but it's evident now that the wrestling is key to him beating anyone of note at middleweight.

If Khamzat keeps the fight standing against Adesanya,Whittaker,Strickland and even Jared, I think he loses.

Honestly felt the Usman fight was a draw, and he only got a win cos of a single 30sec take down in which no damage was done, other than that he lost the 2nd and was losing the 3rd in my books. Completely dominate in the 1st, and super surprised he didn't take it to the ground early in r2 or 3

Has it been confirmed why Walker couldn’t continue?

There was talk that it was a communication barrier as English is walkers second language:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
According to what Dana has just said the Drs an idiot. He apparently asked Walker in English where he was to which he replied: " The desert"

I think he was fatigued in round 2 but he also mentioned hurting his right hand in round 1. Regardless, he should have tried to do more and didn't.

Nah he can't make that weight. Last time the docs told him it was unsafe.

He can make that weight, as he's made it before. He just needs to stay in better shape outside of fight camp.

Unlike the Degestani boys he is not committed. His large Instagram following gets him into events. He got paid 25k to go to Mr Ts burger in Manchester wilmslow road and eat a burger.

Islam will go back home. Keep himself to himself and train hard. Khamzat has moved to Dubai and is out every night.

I agree. Most interview's consist of him saying he wants to kill his opponents and make money, which feeds into his whole maverick type disposition.

If he joined Khabib's team, his ceiling would be limitless.

Izzy seems to be partying a bit more than he used to. Didn't he get arrested for drunk driving? That's always a bad sign.

Aspinall is the man.

That is mighty impressive from Tom. 2 weeks notice and then to destroy one of the best heavyweights

Tom Aspinall is the future of this division. Speed, movement, power and a lethal ground game. I hope we get to see that Jones fight, because Tom might be his greatest test.

Alex stopping Jiri in the co main and becoming a two weight world champion in just 10 fights is crazy. Insane athlete and fighter.
